年末の天気予報では
ずーっと雪だったが、
3が日とも天気が良い。
朝雪が少々積もっては
いるが、昼には解けてしまう。

今日から剪定を始めた。
去年までは、万一どか雪が
ふると棚がつぶれる
恐れがあるからと
巨峰から初めて
いたが、今年はワイン葡萄
から。畑にも雪が少なくて
例年よりは長く畑に
いられそうだ。

偶々すぐそばの畑で野菜を作って
いる方も出ていて、ブロッコリー
や白菜、ほうれん草を頂く。
畑からとったものを
家で雑煮に入れる。口福。

リンゴ畑や葡萄畑では、
年末は遅くまで、そして
新年は3日あたりから
働いている人を多く
見かける。これも好天
のせいだろう。

Depite of the forecasted snow
falls, we have good weather since
last year through today. We had snow
in the morning but it melted away
by noon.

I started working today by
pruning in the winegrape vineyard.
I usually pruned Kyoho vines until
last year worring the snow damage
to the trellis but this year is
different. As we have much less snow
this winter, we can stay outside
longer.

I happened to see the neighbor
in the vineyard who grow vegetables
and got some veges like chinese cabbage,
spinach, and broccoli from his vege yard.
I put some of them in the zoni soup
straight away. What a good luxurious
life !

I saw many people working in the apple
orchards and Kyoho vineyards at the year
end and the beginning of the year. It may
be because of the good and warmer weathet
for this time of the year this season.

親戚に新年会にお呼ばれした。
都会で働いている家族も
帰ってきて、にぎやかな
一時。心づくしのご馳走が並べられ
私のワインやらビール、
とっておきの日本酒
等を酌み交わす。

今年1年が、このように
穏やかで幸せな年となり
また同じように
新たな年を迎えたいと思う。
こういう暖かい時間を
過ごすと、またこのような
時の為にも頑張ろうと
いう思いになる。

I was invited to a new year
gathering of relatives as
always. Family members
working in big cities came
back to stay with the family
for the new year's day.
It was a warm, noisy and fun
night. The special dishes were
prepared and we enjoyed
my wines, beer and sake kept
for a special occasion.

Everybody enjoyed the time
wishing to have a calm and
happy year ahead and to have another
new year party one year later.

Once we spend such a warm
and good time with the family,
we really feel we can work hard
for next time.

What I received at the year end.

年末にいただいたものと
届いたものがある。

頂いたものは手ぬぐい。
葡萄柄で、葡萄の色に
染めてある。勿体無くて
使えないくらいだが、
畑で使わせてもらおう。
美味しい葡萄が
できますようにと。

届いたものは
エコファーマーの認定書。
（日付は10月1日なのに）

正式には
「持続性の高い農業生産方式の
導入計画認定書」というらしい。
今まではこうでしたが、
こういうことをやります、という
計画書を出してそれが認定された
ということ。有機認定は
隣の畑と10メートル以上はなれて
いなければならないとか、
過去3年間の実績が必要なのだが、
一応有機的な栽培方法を導入する
ということだ。

計画だおれにならぬように、
今年から栽培方式を今まで以上に
有機的なものにしてゆくつもり。

計画では、導入する生産方式として
「堆肥等有機質資材施用技術」
「有機質肥料施用技術」
「機械除草技術」
をあげてある。

I received a gift and a certificate
at the end of the last year.

The gift is Tenugui (Japanese cotton
towel) which was dyed with grape desgin.
It seems the dye colour is mad of grape.
It is so nice that I cannot use daily but
I will use it when I work in the vineyards
wishing to harvest good grapes.

The certificate is the Certificate of
Eco-Farmer(dated as of October 1, 2008).
It can be formaliy called
"Certificate for the producution plan
of sustainable agricultural techniques."
My plan to propose what I am going to do
in stead of what I have done is approved.
It is not the certificate as the organic
farmer. In case of this, my vineyards should
be in more than 10m distance from the
neighbouring farm yards, and I need to
be certified not to use chemicals in
my vineyards for more than three years.
What is required for an Eco-farmer
is not so stringent but should introduce
production techniques somehow like
organic.

I will in any case use more organic
techniques in my vineyards. According
to may certified plan, I will use
follwoing techniques;
"use of orgaic matters like compost for soil",
"use of organic fertilizers", and
"mechanical mowing for weed control."

2009年が明けました。
今年が皆様にとってより良い年でありますように。
そして、自分自身にとっても充実した年で
ありますように。

神社仏閣やご先祖様に祈りもしますが、
まずともかく自分で動かないとね。
ストレートに目標に向かってすすむ
ことにします。

葡萄作りについては、試行錯誤の
連続ですが、健康で充実した葡萄が
収穫できるように。

そして健全な葡萄から美味しいワインを
作れるように。

そうして美味しいワインを作るところ
を早く作らないとね。

New year of 2009 has just begun.
I hope this will be a better one for
you and also for myself.

I pray it at the temples and the shrines
as well as in front of my ancestors.
However, I will act first of all by myself.
I will act for my target straight forward.

Regarding grape growing, it will be another
try and error year but I will try to make
healthy and fruitfull grapes.

Then I will try to make best wines out of them.

I have to start setting up a winery where
I can make my own wines with my grapes.

2008年が終わります。
いろいろなことがあった
1年が終わります。

多くの方々の色々なご支援の
おかげで何とか無事に2008年シーズンを
終わることができます。
楽しい1年でした。
お世話になった皆様、お客様に
感謝感謝です。

2008年は色々新しいことに
チャレンジしました。そして
様々な経験をすることができました。
葡萄作りも、ワイン作りも
ある程度の目途がついてきました。
2009年は更に大きなチャレンジをして
より高品質の葡萄作りとワイン作りが
できるようにがんばって行きます。

2009年が、皆様にとり
素晴らしい年になりますように

Year 2008 is going to go.
The year of so many things happened
is going to end.

Thanks to so many supports from so many
people, I have managed to survive the
season of year 2008. It was a fun year.
I cannot say anything but thank you
very much. Thank you my friends, thank you
precious customers.

I made many challenges throuout the
year and had a lot of new experiences.
I have all the way had certain
visions in grape growing and wine making.
In year 2009, I will try bigger challenges
and will try better grapegrowing and wine
making.

I wish you and your family a prosperous
and a wonderful new year!
