大分暖かくなりました。でも、先週末は雨模様でした。今日もパラパラ。
さて、3月20日と今日3月27日にそれぞれ、シャルドネと巨峰アイスワインを瓶詰めしました。
シャルドネはフランス新樽に入れておいたものと樽に入れずにおいたもの(アンウデッド）の2種類を瓶詰めしました。初ビンテージです。トータル約460本。これからしばらく落ち着かせてからリリースします。結構よさそうです。

巨峰アイスワインは、2ヶ月かけてゆっくり発酵させたあと1年間フランスの古樽貯蔵しました。
極甘のデザートワインです。自然の巨峰の持つエッセンスのみが詰まったワインです。高糖度なので開栓後も密封しておけば冷蔵庫で2～3ヶ月も持ちます。う～ん全く蜜の様な風味と濃い味です。

It's getting warmer and warmer everyday. With every rainy day, the grape buds are becoming bigger and bigger. Last weekends it rained heavily which is a goodbye to winter time. I don't think it will snow again. On March 20 and today, I bottled Chardonnay(first vintage) and Kyoho Ice wine (2005). Chardonnay was in the French new oak for about 6 months. I also bottled unwooded Chardonnay. Total number is about 460. Kyoho Ice wine(2005) was matured in the French old oak barrel for about one year. It is so-called a sticky wine with the nose of honey, maple syrup and some flowers with the palate of the same and viscose which is like an icecream melting in your mouth. Both Chardonnay and Kyoho Ice wine are beautiful. Please try them all!

昨夜チラチラ降っていた雪が今朝起きたら4センチほど積もっていました。ここ10日から2週間ほど冬に逆戻りしたような天気です。灯油も買い足さなければならなくなりました。1月末から2月初めの気温だそうな。1月末くらいだと、せいぜい10時から3時くらいまでしか外で作業できませんが（寒くて…、それに5時には真っ暗ですから）、今は6時過ぎくらいまで明るいのでついつい寒くても人目を気にして寒くても外で農作業です。今はまだ、剪定やら剪定枝の片付けやら、春の準備です。下の写真は初めのが今朝9時半くらいのシャルドネ畑で、それから2時間後くらいの同じところです、寒い寒いといってもやはり陽が照ればあの程度の雪は簡単に解けてしまいます。今日は此の畑で7反分分の剪定枝を処理しました。

少し前にオオイヌノフグリが満開だった同じ畑とは思えませんね。花達は花弁をしっかりとつぼみのように閉じてまた暖かくなるのを待っています。

It's like we are still in winter. We had snow this morning about 4cm depth and the temperature went down about 3-4 celcius below zero. It's the temperature in late January to early February.But now, as it is bright up to 6pm, I tend to be outside late in the afternoon and feel very cold with running noze! The first picture was taken at 9:30am and the second one two hours later. Even it snowed like that, it melt away under the sun shine in late March. However, can you imagine this is the same chardonnay vineyard where the picture of little flowers was taken some days ago(shown in early blog page). These flowers close there petals tight like bud and wait for next warmer days.

夕べの雨が今朝は雪。雨交じりの雪。ちょっと農作業は無理っぽかったです。で、ちょっと用事があって、山の上に上りました。岩の湯をすぎた当たりから圧雪になっていて、上りきったころは２０ｃｍほど積もっていました。此の冬、このような雪の中を上るのは初めてじゃないかな～。一昨年のクリスマス前後を思い出して、頭の中にlet it snow, let it sonw, let it snow,というクリスマスソングが…。春だったり、冬だったり、頭がちょっと…。
で、写真は菅平のゾンタックさんの食堂から見た冬景色と峰の原のお昼頃の様子。雪は断然峰の原の方が多かった。ハックルベリーさんもお昼時は一杯でした。

It snowed today ! In Suzaka, it was rainy and snowy this morning. So no work in the vineyards. Went up to Minenohara and Sugadaira highlands (about 1500m above sea level) to deliver chocolates for my friends. It snowed there about 25cm this morning. The Snow fields are all for those visiting there today. Lucky boarders and skiers! Had lunch at Tito Cafe with Kambayashi-san who happened to come by. It was a quiete Sunday in Suzaka except Ningyo Museum where the big-scale Hina Matsuri displays are going on.

今日もいい天気でした。風邪は冷たかったけど。今日もシャルドネ畑の剪定です。
同じ畑に植えてあるヴィオニエもやってほぼ終わり。明日からは、去年開墾した畑にかかれるかも。シャルドネでちょっと心配なのは、去年葡萄の実をならせすぎてしまったかも、ということ。ちょっと枝が軽いのです。同じように枝が軽かったのは、去年のピノノワールでした。ピノは凍害が原因で枯れこんでしまっていたのですが、シャルドネは、ちょっと頑張らせすぎてしまったかな、と少々反省してます。

This is my Chardonnay vineyards. The first photo is cane pruned vine and the second one is spur pruned vine. I thought spur pruning was suitable for the so-called Smart Dyson training system, but I found last year that the cane pruning was better suited for Japan because the density of the new shoots was lower in case of cane pruning. Roughly the number of new shoots was double in case of spur pruning which makes more shadows in the canopy and it takes more time for the fruit to ripe. Higher density may cause more disease,too.

須坂は春の陽気でも、峰の原はにはまだまだこんなに雪があります。今朝はちょっと新雪も降りました。ボーダーが結構来ているみたいです。さすが、標高１５００メートルです。こんなところに、風力発電は欲しくないな～。
