朝一面の雪景色。
25センチほど積もっている。
朝日に遠く北アルプスは
やや赤味を帯びて輝いている。
晴天。

やや重めの雪で、陽が照れば
早く溶けそうな雪を
車から落としたり、道の
雪かきをしたり。

昼間は陽が照って
思ったより暖かい。
ワインを取りに出かけた道すがら、
にであった雪景色。

日没間際の
シャルドネ畑。
積もった雪に
影が長く伸びます。

Everything was covered with
snow this morning. It was about
25cm depth. Under the morning light
the Japan Alpes was shining in rose
colour. It was very fine.

The snow was wet and a bit heavy
which would melt rather easily
under the sun. I dropped it from
the car and shoveled the limited
area in the streets.

It was shining during day time
and it felt even warm. A few
scenes on a short trip to
pick up some wines.

In the chardonnay vineyard

The shadow became longer with
last minute sun shine.

グリーンツーリズム・シンポジウム・
イン・長野2009
というイベントがあって、前半は
養老猛司さんの講演だった。
「脳から農へー平成の参勤交代」
と題して、自然の中で感覚を
育てることの重要性と、その方法
として自然の中で身体を動かす
ことの話。身体を動かす生活をすると、
景色が変わり、考え方が変わる。
一人ひとりが同じものを見ていると
思われる場合でも、違う見方をしている
ということを理解するのが重要だ。
だから、田舎でしばらく生活
するということの意義は大きい。
というような内容だった。

(養老さんは常に景色をかえるために
あちこち動き回りながら講演します。）

一緒に行った農家の方が
「さすが養老さんは、簡単なことを
難しく考えるんだな」と感心していた。
ま、我々が毎日やっていることですから。

シンポジウムが終わる夕刻には
大雪が降っていて、その後
8時頃までに20センチほど積もった。
ここら辺では大雪だ。
今はやんでいるが、これは明日は
雪かきが大変だ。夜のうちに
雪かきをする音があちこちで
聞こえた。

I attended an event named
'Green tourism symposium in
Nagano 2009' and famous
brain doctor and writer
Mr.Takeshi Yoro delivered
a lecture. The title was
'From no(brain) to no(agriculture),
a modern movement of the
relocation of work place.'

He may have told us that we should
nourish sensitivity and it was
developed in rural life. He said
we should use our body in mother
nature and then we could change
our ways of seeing which would
lead to change our way of thinking.
It is important that each people's
way of thinking is unique even though
we see same thing. Therefore to live
a life in country side is very important.

A successful farmer sitting by me
just told me by being impressed at
his lecture, "A great guy like Mr.
Yoro thinks the very simple thing
so much complicated."
What Mr. Yoro told us was acutually what
we do everyday. In any case, it is
encouraging.

By the time we finished the symposium,
it was snowing heavily and we had around
20cm by 8pm. It is a big snow fall
around Suzaka. It is not snowing now at
midnight but we have to shovel snow
tomorrow morning. Even in the evening
I heard shoveling in the dark here and
there.

昔会社勤めの頃
オフィスに保険のおばちゃんが来て
バイオリズムのグラフをよく
おいていってくれたっけ。
この頃は占いとかはよく眼にするが
バイオリズムは下火なのか、
ほとんど見聞しなくなった。

冬になるといつものことなのだが、
期待と不安が交互する。忙しい時は
考えている暇もないくらい
決断の連続だが、この時期は
迷うことが多く、弱気に
なったり、また元気になったり。
バイオリズムの転換期なのか。

今植えたいと思っている品種が
あって、有力な苗木屋さんに
なかったので日本では入手不可能
なのかと思っていたら、北海道や
長野で既に栽培していることが
わかった。他の事で気持ちが
少々沈んでいたのだが、
こんなことで直ぐに元気に
なってしまった。

（これでも白ワイン用の葡萄です）

くよくよするほどのことでは
なかったということだ。
単にバイオリズムのせいだったのか？

When I was working at the office
long time ago, insurance sales ladies
used to give away individual's
biorythim graph. I often see
the fortune telling in the TV,
magagines, etc., recently
but not biorythm things at all.

During winter, high and low
feeling often comes over me
one another which I usually
don't have during busy season
when I have to make quick decision
every time. But in winter, I feel
rather at a loss and I feel down
at one time and high at another time.
Is it because that I am at
the biorythm turning point ?

There is one winegrape variety which
I have almost given up to obtain
in Japan as one big nursery told me
that they do not have such cultivar.
But I happened to find out the
that variety was grown in Japan alreay
in Hokkaido and even in Nagano.
At such finding, although I was a bit
down, I have become high suddenly.

Oh, what worried me for a while
was not actually a big problem at all.
Or was it because of the biorythm?

今日は朝から天気が良くて、
大分冷え込んだのだが
日が出ているうちは
畑にも大分人が出ている。
リンゴも葡萄も剪定
の作業だ。

シャルドネの畑から西に
向かうとアルプスが美しい。
東に眼を転ずると、青空に
志賀高原の山が見える。
中心付近に顔を出して
いるのは横手山か。
写真に撮ると大分
わかりづらくなる。

人の眼は遠くにあるものを
大きく感ずるようにできて
いるらしい。雄大に映る
景色も写真にとってしまうと
印象が薄れるのは
そのせいだとか。大自然の美しさ
は経験するに限るね。

It was fine whole day.
It was very cold in the morning
but while it shined many people
were seen in the orchards and
vineyards. They were busy pruning
apple trees or grape vines.

Beautiful mountain ridges of the
Japan Aples can be seen in the west
from my chardonnay vineyard.
In the east direction, the mountains
of Shiga Kogen heights can be seen
in the blue sky. The triangle shape
mountain in the center of the photo
should be Yokote yama mountain.
It is blur in the picture.

I heard that the human beings
recognizes the object in the distance
in larger scale. Therefore a magnificient
view to the eyes once taken in the photo
becomes unimpressive. Then let's go out
to see the beauty of the nature by our
own eyes.

あちこちから大雪の
便りが届くが、もともと
余り雪の降らない須坂辺り
は今日もこんなものです。
それでも各スキー場では
恵みの雪になったかな。

一日中雪が舞ったり日が照ったり
を繰り返していたので、
雪が弱い時にシャルドネの
剪定に畑に出た。

防寒はしていても
足元が雪なので、しばらくすると
冷たくなる。また、日が翳ると
寒くはなる。こんな日は
余りはかどらないが、やった分だけは
前に進む。別に無理をして
やっているわけではない。
家で寝転がっているよりは
気分がいい。

I hear heavy snow falls from
everywhere throuout Japan but
we do not have so much snow
around here. We usually do
not have much snow falls in
Suzaka. I hoped this snow would
relieve many people at ski
area.

It snowed and shined from
time to time and I went out
to prune chardonnay when the
weather got mild.

Even with the warm working boots,
I felt cold at the foot in the
snow. And it got cold when it
got cloudy and snowy.

The pruning did not go smoothly
under such weather but I was able
to go forward one vine to another
as far as I worked in the vineyard.
I did not force myself to do so.
I felt much better out in the
vineyard than just staying at home
doing little.
