明日からJA須高の露地巨峰の
荷受が始まる。ということで
本来なら今日収穫と荷造りを
しているはずなのですが、今日は
収穫せず。あと1週間は様子見です。

お盆前後に各畑で1割程度の
房を落としましたが、まだまだ
満足がゆく状態ではないのです。

お客様に出した葉書は今日当たり
届いていると思いますが、
やはり美味しくなってから
出荷したいと思いまして、一応
9月10日辺りからと考えています。

おいしくな～れ、おいしくな～れ
と祈っております。

First shipment to local JA
is scheduled tomorrow so I am
supposed to start harvest and
packing today but I did not do it.
I want to wait for at least one
week for better color and taste.

Even though I dropped around 10% of
bunches at mid August, I am not happy
with today's bunches yet.

I believe that my DM should have
reached my customers today in which
I had written to inform that I would
start harvest at around Sep 10.

I am praying every day that my
grapes may become better and better.

樹勢の強い品種は、
今年の様に根に供給される
水分が豊富だと、いつまでも
新梢や副梢が伸び続けます。
遅伸びともいいます。
そうすると、房に行くべき
エネルギーが植物成長に使われて
しまうので、その伸びを抑える為に
トリミングをします。トッピングとも
言います。

白だと、シャルドネはもう止まって
いますが、ヴィオニエや
ソーヴィニオン・ブランは
しばらくするとまた伸びています。

赤だと、やはりシラーズの成長が
止まりません。カベルネ・フランも
結構伸びます。

In case of vigorous cultivars,
when supplied with plenty of water
to the root zone like this year, the
shoot tips continue to grow even after
veraison. Such late growth would spend
energy to produce new or lateral shoots
but not to ripe the bunches. Therefore
I have to trim the shoot tips. Such
operation is called trimming or topping.

For white variety, chardonnay
usually stop by now but viognier and
sauvignon blanc still continue to push
lateral shoots.

For red variety, shiraz is very vigorous
and would not stop easily. Cabernet Franc
seems to grow later, too.

4年前「自民党をぶっ壊す」といって
改革（それが何の改革だったのかは
定かでないが）を前面に出した自民党が
大勝してから4年。同じような光景を
見ている気がする。急ごしらえの候補者達、
刺客と呼ばれる対立候補者の擁立。
4年もあれば何でも起こることを証明した。

今回勝利した民主党候補に言いたい。
決して個人の運動が功を奏して
勝ったわけではないという事を。
国民は、今日の「不安感」を作って
しまった行政や政治にそっぽを向いたのだ。

「民主党では今までの農政の継続性が
損なわれる」というような発言をする
おごれる官僚達を何とかして欲しいのだ。
今までの農政と行政の継続性の結果が
農地の荒廃や自給率40％、食糧の
海外依存をもたらしたのではないのか。

確かに外交や民主党の成り立ちや
二重構造には不安がある。ただ、
この国を何とかしたいといっているその人たちの、
言葉に期待を寄せたのだ。今のままでは何も
変わらないのら、変えたいという人たちに
まかせようと思ったのではないか。
その意味ではより悪くなさそうな方を
選んだだけではないのか。

マニフェストでは、「ばらまき」と呼ばれるほど
こうする、ああするという項目がある。
少なくとも、そうなったらいいなという
思いをもたらしたという効果があったのでは
ないかとは思う。
どの党も、日本の10年後20年後の姿を
示してはいない。ただ、それをきっかけに
何となく明るい方向に行くように
考えてくれそうな党に一票を投じた
ということではないのか。自民党でも民主党でも
どちらでもいい。今のそしてこれからの
世代の日本がより明るくなるような
姿を描いて欲しいのだ。

大臣やら政務官やらになって、
ちやほやされて踏ん反りかえって
言動がいかにも大物風に
偉そうになっちゃ～、
な～んだということになるだけだよ。

未来を描いて欲しい、そして其処にいたる
道筋を示して欲しい。それには国民の皆様から
意見を伺ってなどとまだるっこしいことを
言ったり、諮問機関を作ってそこで
等とバカなことは言わないでくれ。
国政を行おうと議員になったのだろうから
堂々と、目指す日本の未来像を
自らの言葉で指し示して欲しい。

It has been four years now since
LDP made landslide vinctory at the
last Lower House Election by saying
that LDP would bring revolution
even by breaking up LDP itself.
I felt I have seen the same scenery
this time again at the many new
candidates suddely selected, assassinor
candidates against LDP and the Komeito
Party. The coming result will have clearly
shown anything can happen in four years time.

I would like to say to the winning DP candidates
that your ability did not play major role
in your winning. We expressed no to the
politics and bureaucrats who made persent
widespread feeling of unsecurity.

An agriculture bureacrat has been recently
said to have commented that DP's policy would harm
the administrative continuity in agriculture.
Many people thought then such continuity had
brought about today's 40% of self-supply rate
of agricultural products, the davastation
of farm lands, uncertain import food dependence,
etc.

There are surely uncertain facts on its
composition and double standards of decision
making at DP but I think many people expected
on the words spoken by those who saying that they
would change the current situation. If nothing
changed with LDP, many people came to think
to let DP try it as it says to do so, I think.
As such, only less worse ones were merely chosen
this time, I guess.

In the list of promises of DP, there are many
issues that were promised to do this and to
do that, they might have certain effects on
people's voting action.
No parties inlcuding DP have shown the
future scenes of Japan in ten to twenty years.
But DP seemed to try to say that their promieses
would be the first step to brighter future which
help to get more votes from the people.
Nobody would caer whether it be LDP or DP but
we want to see the brighter picture of our
lives.

If new ministers or policy makers are spoiled
with sweet treatment by the bureacrats and
misunderstand that they were big guys and
would ignore their promises, we will hate you
and will desert you soon.

We really want you to show us our better future
that you believe and the way to it. Please do not
be fool enough to say that you will listen to
the people's voices first or ask some so-called
specialists' committees first. As you have become
MP to do right things for the people and the
country, please show us our future life
by your own words and opinion first of all.

今年は日照不足と長雨、
それによる病気の大発生
で葡萄作りは踏んだり蹴ったり
ですが、ここにきて農家の話題がもう
一つ増えました。それはカラスです。
烏カラスかもしれないしそうでないかも知れない。
はたまた、烏ではないかも知れない。

この写真の様に、ビニールの
傘を掛けているにも関わらず
袋を破いて、中の葡萄だけを
器用に食べているのです。
カラスだったらその鋭い嘴で
房ごと落として食べそうな
物ですが。

房ごと落とされたり、中だけ
食べられたりの被害が今年は
多いようです。

This is not a good year for
grapegrowers due to short sunshine
hours, long rain and the outbreak of
disease. Here is an addition to those
that is bird damage. It may be crows or
it may not be, or it may be something eles
but birds.

Like the buch in the pictures, despite of
the vinyl parasol, the paper wrap was broken
and the berries inside were eaten up by
something. Crows may drop the bunch first
and eat on the ground.

Many grapegrowers suffer from dropping
of bunches as well as the damage like
these picture. It sounds like
there are many more such damages this year
than normal year.

お盆以降好天続きで葡萄の
状況は急回復している。
とはいえ、まだまだ色が来ない。
現在はこんな感じ。
まだ、赤味を帯びていて、
すっぱいです。

一方ナガノパープルは
すでに真っ黒になっていて
今年は期待できそう。
ただ収量は少ないのですけどね。
今年から出荷します。
ネットやカタログ販売などでは
一房3,000円から5,000円なんて
ついてますけどね。
味を見て決めます。

Grapes are getting better in
its conditions due to the fine
weather after Obon Festival week.
However, the colour has not
attained its tasty black color
and is having redish hint like this
picture. It must taste sour.

On the other hand Nagano Purple
is already in black color and shoud
fetch good price this year. I do not
have big harvest this year though.
I have seen Nagap Purple being priced
at 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen per bunch
in a website or in a catalogue sales.
I will decide my price upon the
ripeness and the taste of the
grape and will let you know later.
