大きな台風が上陸しそうです。
その影響か今日は雨のち
一日中薄くらく寒い日でした。

台風は困ります。
果樹特にりんごに、大きな
被害をもたらします。今日当り
収穫できそうなりんごを
大急ぎで収穫しているようです。

葡萄は、りんごほどには風に
弱くは無いですが、それでも
揺さぶられれば落ちてしまいます。
やはり収穫できそうな
ものは収穫しなければ。

ワイン葡萄は、梗が強いので台風といえども
風で房が落ちるということはありません。
心配なのは、棚の倒壊です。棚作りでは
棚に真横から強風が吹けば倒れる可能性
もあるのです。

ここら辺では、台風が日本海を通ると
強風が吹く様です。上陸することなく
日本の東海上を通りすぎて行って
欲しいものです。

A big size typhoon is forecasted to land
on Japan coast. It rained in the morning and
and it was very cloudy and chilly day today
maybe due to the approaching typhoon.

It's no good to every body.
It could bring big damage to fruit
especially apples. Many apple growers
hurried to pick apples that were supposed
to be picked soon.

Grapes are not so much vulnerable to wind
as apples but if it blows badly the bunches
would drop so we had better pick grapes if possible.

Winegrapes are strong against wind because of
its strong stems to the branches so we do not
worry about the dropping bunches. However, the
wind might break trellis. If wind came straight
across the row, then the trellis could not
stand it and would fall down to the ground.
Most horrible sight to the grapegrowers.

When a typhoon come through the Japan Sea, then
we would have strong wind here. Therefore I really
wish that the typhoon would not land on the coast
and go away from Japan.

Home Coutry Fair in Tokyo

昨夜遅く東京都板橋区
大山商店街での2日間にわたる
ふるさとフェアを
終えて帰って来ました。
ご来場いただいた方々
ありがとうございました。

特にわざわざ私の顔を見るため、
私のワインを買うために来て頂いた
方々感謝致します。また
初めて試飲してお買い上げ頂いた
お客様ありがとうございました。

「東京でも一番物価が安いのよ」
とお客さんが言う通り、また不況と
あいにくの雨の為に客足が延びず
物販は大苦戦でした。

私も野菜や果物の販売がメインに
なりました。それでも価格破壊を
不当に助長することなく、
良いものを適正な
値段で買って頂けた事は、
生産者の立場からも嬉しいことでした。

興味深かったのは
長年この場所で多くのイベントを見ている
方から「行政がやるのと生産者が来るの
とでは、熱意や取組が全く違う」
という言葉を聞いたこと、
ここでのイベントを契機に板橋区6万人分の
学校給食に食材を提供し始めている
自治体が出始めていること、
買い物客は産地直送
の新鮮で美味しいものということを
わかっているので、近所の店の値段は
あまり関係ない、
というお話を聞いたこと
等でした。

I came back to Suzaka late last night
after finishing the Fair at Happy Road
Oyama Shopping Arcade in Itabashi, Tokyo.
Thank you very much for your visiting us
at the event.

Especially I appreciate those who
came to see me and buy my wines. Also
I thank you for those who tasted my wines
there and bought at the venue.

As a shopper told me that this was the
cheapest shopping area in Tokyo, it was not
easy at all to have those shoppers buy our
goods especially under the resession and
under the rainy weather.

As such my role was rather to sell veges and fruit
than sell wines most of the time. However, it was
a pleasure to have many customer who bought our goods
at moderate prices without unreasonably lowering
them.

It was interesting to have heard from
a veteran who have seen many events at
the same place that;
1) attitude and enthusiasm of vendors
are totally different in case they
were from City Hall or they were real
producers,
2) there are a few cities that became successful
in selling their products to the school lunch for
60,000 students in Itabashi ward,
3) the shoppers understand well about the
freshness and the quality of the products
from the country side and would buy them
even though similar products were sold
at lower price at nearby shops,
etc.

That sounds indicative.

Winegrape harvest schedule.

どの畑で何を何時収穫するかはまだ
決まっていません。前半は白が、後半は
赤が中心となります。

まだそれぞれの日付で人数が確定しておりません
(実を言うと大分人手不足）ので、
ご希望の方はお申込下さい。日程は此方で
調整させて頂きます。参加費が発生する日程
もありますのでご了承下さい。

秋の一日葡萄畑でワイン葡萄摘み。
帰りは温泉で、何年か後の
美味しいワインを心待ちにしながら
一汗流して、な～んていうのはどうですか。

Detailed schedule has not been

and what to pick. Early part will
be for white wines and later part
will be for reds.

Each dates have still vacancy and anybody
can apply for the participation. Upon request,
we will arrange the date. There are events
where small fee is required.

On a sunny autumn day in a vineyard, why
don't you come and enjoy winegrape picking
with us ? After light work and full
of satisfaction of a country life, you can
enjoy hot spring bathing dreamig a future
wine from your picked grapes.

さ～て、今度は須坂市の主催する物産展です。
10月2日と3日、板橋区の大山商店街中央広場
にて「信州須坂ふるさとフェア」が開催
され、そこに出店します。

私はワインやシードル、お酒他
を持って行きます。

おやき、りんご、ぶどう、きのこ
に野菜が販売され、ひんのべ（すいとんですね）
が振舞われます。

10月15日と16日には名古屋でありますが、
此方には私は参加しません。お酒は地元の
酒屋さんが持って行きます。

お近くの皆さんは是非お立ち寄り下さい。

Now here comes another fair organized by
Suzaka City. I will be joining the Shinshu
Suzaka Country Fair held on October 2 and 3
at Oyama Shopping Road in Itabashi ward, Tokyo.

I will bring my wines, cider, sake, etc.

Oyaki (Japanese soul food), apple, grapes, mashrooms,
and veges will be sold and a traditional style soup
will be given away.

Same Fair will be planned on Ocotber 15 and 16 in
Nagoya but I will not be there but a bottl shop
will be joining instead.

Please do come and visit us on coming Friday
and Saturday in Tokyo.

26日、27日と開催された「ふるさと大信州市」
にて、楠ヴィニヤーズの小間で試飲され、また
ワインや日本酒をお買い上げ頂いた方々、ありがとう
ございました。

麻布十番でワインをお買い上げになり、今回も
わざわざおいでいただいた方々、遠くは茨城や
横浜方面からもわざわざ足を運んでくれた友人知人
の皆様、また1日目に続き2日目には友人を連れて
訪れて頂いた方々、心より感謝致します。
ありがとうございました。

皆様の励ましは大変心強く、また頑張って
前進しようという意を強くしています。
天気次第という不確定要因の大きい葡萄つくり
ワイン造りですが、より美味しいものを造る
ことができ、皆様のご期待に応えられるように
努力してゆきます。

多くの出会いがあり大変意義深い2日間でした。

Thank you very much for your coming and
tasting my wines and sake at my booth
at The Shinshu Fair in Tokyo held on
last weekend, September 26 and 27.

I was amazed and very happy to see again the
same people as at Azabu Juban in August.
I had friends coming to see me. Some were
all the way from Ibaraki and Yokohama.
There weare such customers who happened to
find me on the first day and came again
with their friends on the second day.
Thank you for your enthusiasm in wine including
mines.

I appreciate it very much for your encouragement
which would made me go ahead for better grapes and
better wines despite of weather dependent grape
growing. One day I will return to you with my
excellent wines, I hope.

It was really meaningful for me to have
met many people at the fair.

I thank you for every body who visited me and
sipped my wines there. I hope you will love
my wines for good.
