ラングホーン・クリークへは
ヌーン・ワイナリーのドリューさんと
行った。ヌーンのリザーブワインになる
カベルネのサンプリングと収穫日の
打ち合わせが目的だった。

途中ラングホーン・クリークの歴史や
ヌーンワイナリーとの関係などを
丁寧に話してくれた。冬期間自然の
フラッドイリゲーションが起きる場所は
いい葡萄が取れる。良いワインを生産する
ワイナリーがなくてメジャーになれて
いないが、大手が広大な葡萄畑を開発
している。

ラングホーンクリークでは全てが
大きいよ、人もね、などなど。
大きな湖と大きな空が印象的な
ところであった。

I went to Langhorn Creek wiht Drew Noon of
the esteemed Noon Winery. He wanted to do
sanmpling of caberne grapes and needed to
discuss about the harvest date.

He kindy explaine the history of Langhorn
Creek and the relationship of his winery
and the vineyards there. It actually produce
good grapes especially in the low area where
the natural flood irrigation occurs during
wet winter season. There are very few winery
producing good wine so the it is not recognized
widely yet. However, big boys have already
established vast vineyards.

He told me that everything was big there.
Big trees, big vines, big people, and so on.

午前中激しい雨だったが
お昼頃には上がってやわらかい
日差しが。ただ、風は思ったより
冷たくて作業に難儀した。

今日は遠くから、近くから、また大会社からも
（メルマガ）ハッピーバスデイのメッセージを
幾つか頂き、メールボックスが少々賑わった。

マクラーレン・ヴェールにて

昔はこんな風な二階建てのコルドンが
多かったのです。品質より量をとる時代
の名残り。とはいえ、まだ結構こういう
畑もあります。

既に黄色に変色している葡萄畑の一画。
理由を聞いたら、収穫すると直ぐに色が
変わるのだという。それにしても早すぎ。
水不足かな。収穫が年々早まっているという
ような話はよく耳にしたが。

アデレード・ヒルズにて

バード・イン・ハンドの入り口。
翌日のウェディングに備えてトーチ
などを準備中。

We had heavy raind this morning but it stopped
at around noon time. Sun shined softly but the
wind was chilly and the vineyard operation was
not easy.

I received messages fo happy birthday from far,
near and from a few big companies (mailinn magazines
of course). I was happy as I received more messages
today than usual.

At McLaren Vale

There used to be many more double layer cordons
in old days when the quantity exceeded quality.
Here are a few remainings but you can find often here.

A section of the vineyard changed to yellow already.
They said the leaves changed color soon after harvest
but it seemed to me too early. May be water deficiency?
Meanwhile I heard often that the harvest became earlier
each year.

At Adelaide Hills
The entrance and the around of Bird In Hand
winery. For the wedding next day, they were
decorating the site including the torches.

なんだったのかと思うくらいな春の気温。

The temperature went up to the normal
early spring time weather level.
I am doing pruing in the vineyards.

Following series of South Australia:
Olive, a Cellar Door in the vineyard,
small bunch with concentrated juice,
Cabernet Sauvignon.

といっても、4月に降った事も
あるから別にそれほど驚くほどでは
ないのだが先週の32度からだと気温差で
30度程はあるから大分寒いのは事実だ。
夕方にはちょっとした吹雪。
普通の作業手袋では指先がかじかんで
しまう。

南オーストラリアのまぶしい太陽が恋しくなる。
そろそろビンテージも最終盤に掛かってきている
というメールを頂く。

I had snow in April before so it is not
particularly surprising. Though as I came back
from a country where it was 32 degrees C,
it is freezing enough. It snowed a lot with
strong wind in the late afternoon. With normal
gloves, my fingers got very cold.

I wish the shining blue sky in South Australia
on such a day. I received an e-mail sayin that
this year's vintage is at the final stage
now.

2週間ほど南オーストラリアへ
ワインの勉強に行ってました。

本当にワイン漬けの毎日。
ちょっと無い貴重な経験でした。
少しずつ紹介して行きます。

それにしても、全ては現地の
早坂さん夫妻のご好意によって
実現したものです。宿泊と車を提供して下さり
、さらにはご自宅を自由に使わせてくださった、
その好意に感謝の言葉以外のものはありません。
本当にありがとうございました。

それにしても、そいう得がたい方々と出会えた
のは何という幸運なことなのか。

今回は、それに加えて行く先々で出会った方々が親切に
してくれて本当に感謝感謝の毎日でした。

I was out to South Australia for
about two weeks to study around
wine. Everyday a lot of wines - what an
experience ! The layers of precious moments
which I will introduce a bit here.

This time, I cannot find any other proper
words than 'Thank you very much' to express my
gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Hayasaka living in
Adelaide who were so kind to treat me as a
family member letting me stay with them, use
their car and make feel at home. I really
appreciate their kindness.

I find myself very fortunate to have such nice
people. What is more, everybody at any place
were so kind to me and us, wine tour members.
I feel something very warm in my heart.
What a nice trip and experience.
I really thank you all for every thing again and
again.
