私のところでは
地元産のりんご「ふじ」をつかって
一味も二味も違う（飲めばわかる！）
りんごジュースを作って販売
しています。

最近、お祝い事の贈り物にしたいのでラベルを
作りたいというご希望があり、
私のワインのラベルを作っていただいている
阿部さんがデータを作って送って
くれました。

そこで、22日夜から取り掛かりましたが、
アドビフォトショップをダウンロードしたり
（使い方がよくわからない！）
今日は今日で和紙ラベルを買ってきて、
ラベル屋さんをダウンロードしたり、
何だかんだやっているうちに
コンピューターがフリーズしたりで
大変でした。和紙ラベルも既存のものは
A4版で12枚と小さいので、フリーサイズの
和紙ラベルをカットしたりして…。

で、できたラベルがこちらです。

遠めにはあまりよく分かりませんが
瓶を手に持つと和紙の温かみが
伝わってきます。

My apple juice is know for its excellent taste.
Localy grown high quality apple makes the difference.

One of my friends wants to use special label for her
gift. Ms Abe who designed all of my wine lables made
the label and sent me the data. As I could not open
the file, I had to download Adobe Photoshop trial version
and went to buy Japanese paper lable, etc since yesterday.
Then I downloaded a software indicated on the package of
Japanese paper lable and somehow my computer freezed.

After all, I cut the free size paper into said pieces and the
mission completed! Here is the masterpiece of two days
work.

Once you get the bottle in your hand, you can feel warmth from
the Japanese paper on the glass bottle.

昨日今日と良い天気でした。

今は巨峰の剪定中です。
畑には雪があり、しばらくすると
足元が冷たくなります。

写真手前右側が剪定した場所。
それ以外はこれからです。
基本は枝の先端からです。
昨年伸びた枝で空が見えないほど
混んでいます。
今年伸びる新梢を予測しながら
新梢がお互い重ならずに空間が
埋まるように枝を切ってゆきます。

ここは野辺にある畑。
東には豊丘・米子、仁礼地区と
根子岳（右端の山）等を望みます。

西には北信五岳を望みます。
見えているのは、左から
飯綱山、黒姫山、妙高山です。
戸隠山は飯綱の奥に、斑尾山は
はるか右方向なので、写真には
写っていません。

We had good weather yesterday and today.
Though the foot get cold a little bit after
entering snow covered kyoho vineyard.

The cleared area shows the after pruning and
the crowded area is the before pruning.
Pruning needs imagination how the new shoots grow
during the season. New shoots should not cross over
each ther but the space should be filled with
new shoots.

Here is a vineyard in Nobe area with beautiful scenery.
Towards the east, Neko-dake mountain and towards the
west, three out of five famous mountains can be seen,
namely, from left to right, Iizuna mountain, Kurohime
mountain and Myoko mountain. Togakushi mountain which is
behind Iizuna and Madarao mountain which is in far right
are not here in this picture.

剪定の日々ですが、今日は夕刻から
蕎麦うちと蕎麦栽培の研修に
仲間6人で行ってきました。

蕎麦つくり仲間の1人のご実家なのですが、
ここの佐藤和子さんは、お仲間ともう15年も
蕎麦栽培とそば打ちをやっています。

蕎麦は、「おやまぼくち」という山菜の繊維を
つなぎに使う（そば粉500gに対して僅か2.5g)
というほぼ10割蕎麦です。つるつるで上品な
蕎麦で、小麦粉を使うそばとは
食感が大いに異なります。
大変美味しい蕎麦です。

蕎麦打ちを少々体験したあと試食です。

その後、蕎麦栽培のお仲間の関さんも加わって、
栽培の実際を伺いました。佐藤さん、関さんらの
グループは約16人で、忙しい農作業を
やりつつ、遊休荒廃農地を無くそう、蕎麦の里に
しようと、約2ha強の畑で蕎麦を栽培しています。

栽培の実際はとても役に立つお話で、
われら蕎麦の会のメンバーも、やり方を
変えることにより、余り負担の無い方法
でできそうだと意を強くしました。

もっと面積を増やそうか、なんて勇ましい話も…。
無理なくやってきたから、農作業がいそがしくても
15年やってこれたとのことです。我々も
無理なくやりたいものです。

Days of pruning. However, we went to learn
a bit more about buckwheat growing and soba
making. Six members of soba making group to
which I belong visited a farmer's inn Ippuu in
Yamanouchi machi town near Shiga.

Ms. Kazuko Sato, wife of the inn has been growing
buck wheat with her friends for 15 years. Their soba
is very much different from normal soba which wheat is
usually used for soba making. But Sato-san uses so-called
"Oyamabokuchi", dried wild vegetable's fiber in stead of
wheat.

The texture is smoother and more delicate than
conventional soba. It is almost 100% buckwheat noodle
but it is not crunchy or hard.

After the soba tasting, Sato-san's friend joined and
told us how they grow buckwheat in more than 2ha of
soba farm ! Their group consists of only 16 busy
farmers.

Their experience and suggestions are really encouraging and
gave us a lot of hints how we can manage withou much
stress in the growing. Because they don't impose the
group work on the individual too much when one is busy, and that
they do understand individual's situation, they have managed
the buckwheat growing for 15 years ! Don't push too much
each other and take it easy are the keys to the long time
successful activities.

We have learnt a lot from them.

昨年蕎麦を作った畑を通りかかったら
カラスが何羽も集まっています。
雪が薄く積もった畑を突っついているような、
何かを食べているような。そこだけは積雪
がありません。
蕎麦の芽でも出ているのか（まさか！）と思って
近づいてみると。草が少々生えているだけ。
軽く地面を突っついたような跡はあるのですが…。
結局何をしていたのかは分からず。
少し離れて、すずめの一団もいました。
一体何をしていたのか。

ちなみに背景は巨峰の畑で、右手の
黒い塊は石垣です。

I found a flock of crows in the buckwheat yard
on a snowy day. They seemed to eat something on the
ground. But I could not get what they were doing.
I wondered if buckwheat were growing and approached the
site but could not find anything other than small grasses.
Sparows were also around but they did not approach to
the crows. A mysterious sight on a witer's day.

The back ground is Kyoho vineyard and the black
lump on the right hand side is a stone wall.
