久しぶりの明覚山の様子です。
今日午後7時過ぎ。実物より
明るく見えるのはカメラのCCDのせい。

最近、山の色が青だったり（昼間）
黒かったり（早朝・夕暮れ時）見える。
そう見ようとしているせいかな。
ちょっとこじつけすぎかも。

ブルー・マウンテン　とか
シュバルツ・ヴァルトとか、何か
使えそうな良い名前
は無いものかと考えている。

CIを何とかしろ、と親しい友人から
言われているのだ。

Myokaku-san mountain again after long time.
Even after 7pm, you can see clearer view through
CCD.

I have found the mountain in blue (day time) or
black (early in the morning or late afternoon)
recenlty. Or I put it so on purpose.

I have been thinking a good name for my winery
so I have been trying to link something here with
say Blue Mountain or Schwarzwald.

I have been told by my close friends to think over
CI more seriously.

やや遅めではあるが
緑枝接木をやっている。
シャルドネとピノ・ノワール。

台木の新梢に穂木の新梢を接ぐ
のだ。苗木屋さんでやっているのは
休眠期の接木で、大量に作るには
確実な方法だ。それには、
それなりの装置も必要になる。

冬に剪定枝どうしを接木する
方法だが、ヒートベッドとか、自分で
作れる自信がない。まあ、現場（畑）では
欠損した樹を補充するためにやるので
それほど数は多くないし、確実なので
緑枝接木がお薦めだ。

さすがに今年植え替えた台木は
太い新梢が出ていないので、つくかどうか
心配だが、去年から植えたままの台木は
旺盛な樹勢なので、接ぐまでは楽だ。
ただし、つくかどうかわかるのは
これからです。台木に芽が残っていると
それが優先的に伸びて、穂木の芽が
伸びないこともあるのです。

I have tried geen grafting these few days
for Chardonnnay and Pinot Noir.

Scion from winegrape new shoot(shoot is green colour)
is grafted onto rootstock. At nursery, so-called
bench grafting is popular for mass production where
single bud scion is grafted onto disbudded
rootstock. But it needs　special equipments and
treatment for the propagation.

I can use pruned canes(hardwood) for this method but
I am not sure if I can make heatbed for the
propagation of the grafted canes. And field grafting
maybe sufficient in order to fill the space in the
vine rows. This method is said to be very certain, too.

Weak rootstocks which I transplanted this Spring
have only small shoots and I am not sure if the
grafting for such small shoot is effective or not.
But the rootstocks planted and grown in the field
since last year have bigger new shoots which are
vigorous, too. It is much easier to graft scion
onto the bigger new shoots. I have tried to remove
buds from the rootstocks so that new shoot would not
grow from the remaining buds of rootstocks.

夕べから夜間灌水が始まった。
午後7時から朝7時まで。

こういう風景はなかなかどこでも
見られるという物ではないだろう。
日滝地区にはくまなく入っている。
灌水組合としての減価償却や借入金の返済が
際限なく続いているようにも思える。

ワイン葡萄には灌水がほとんど必要ないので、
というのも自然降水で十分なので、畑を借りる
時にコスト負担が大変。
1反分（約1,000sqm)当り、年間2万4千円ほど。
1ヘクタールで24万円。

なかなか一気に畑を増やせない事情の一端
でもある。

Night water spraying by sprikler began since
last night. From 7pm to 7am.

Such view is not common other than around here.
Sprinklers are installed every corner in Hitaki area
farm yards. Such irrigation is not necessary for grape growing because we have enough rainfall here.
Irrigation cooperation seems to have
endless depreciation and loan schedule

The burden is on the farmers and on those who
want to lease such farm yard. It costs about
JPY24,000.- per 1,000 sqm per year or JPY240,000.-
per hectare per year.

This is the big burden and is the reason that
I cannot expand the vineyards so easily.

朝夕涼しすぎる日が続いている。
そのせいで、葡萄の生育がおかしい。
まずナガノ・パープル。
まだ、満開になっていない。
写真は大分ピンボケだが、この房は
ほぼ満開。ただ、それはほんの一部。
誘引に摘心,それに房きりを行ったが、
満開以降の作業に進めない。

巨峰も今年は不安要素が多い。
既に満開は過ぎたが、低温が
続いたせいか開花していない
粒が多いのだ。9日に開花だったので
12日頃には満開なのだが、よ～く
房を観察するとキャップ
（粒の先端についている茶色いやつです）
が飛んでいない粒がまだまだ多い。
今年はこの調子だと
単為結果といって種無しで、
粒の大きくならない現象が頻出しそうだ。

写真では、本来キャップが飛んで受粉して
大きくなる粒に、キャップがまだついている。
という事は受粉していない、つまり種無しが
できる可能性が大きそうなのだ。
種無しと種ありの粒が混ざった房を
親子、又は親子房と言います。
英語では、小さい粒のことをshot berry
と言います。

Every day we have low temperature in the morning
and in the evening which influences the grape
growth.

First, about Nagano Purple. The flowering is delayed
despite of the early season high temperature. I was about
to have Gibberelic acid treatment but I could not do so.
I was only able to do training, tipping and bunch
forming.

Secondly, there are many uncertainity regarding
Kyoho growth, too. Even after the full flowering,
I can still find many berries with cap which was
supposed to drop at flowering time. The flowering
was on the 9th so the full flowering should have
been on the 12th. You can find the bunch with
many caps still on as shown in the picture.
As such, shot berries are expceted which do not
carry seeds in the berries. In Japanese, we call such
bunch as Oyako or Oyako-husa.

峰の原高原で行われた
レンゲツツジウォーキングに参加。
晴天。気持ちのよい陽射し。
夏と冬以外に、こんなにも
美しい場所だったとは。

5キロコースに参加して、途中
初めて緋の滝まで足を伸ばした。

歩いている最中は汗びっしょりで
終了後は汗でぬれた体が寒いくらい。

紹介する写真ではその美しさが
10分の1も伝わらない。
こんなに美しい場所を知らなかった
とは…。
今日の参加者は幸運でした。

I joined Renge-tsutsuji(a lotus azalea?) walking
event held at Minenohara Highland.
It was a beautiful day with confortable
sunshine and breeze. I did not know that it
is such a beautiful place other than summer
and winter.

I was in 5km course group but I left the group
on the way and went to Hinotaki(Scarlet waterfall)
for the first time.

I sweat so much during the walking but I felt
cold after it because of the wet skin and cold air.

Here are some pictures but the real beauty cannot
be experssed by the pictures. I regret that I did
not know such a beautiful place. The participants
were really lucky today.
