昨日は一日中結構な
雨降りでした。

そのせいで、今朝の畑は
びしょびしょです。
朝露と雨の露で
合羽を着て作業をしていたら、
太陽が上がってきてサウナ状態
になります。

お昼過ぎまでは結構暑かったのですが、
夕方になって急に冷え込んできて
半そででは寒いくらいです。
変な天気。

今日は一日ピノノワールのデサッカリング。
一昨年凍害にやられて、去年から今年と
クラウンゴール等の影響があったら
主幹を変えられるように根本に主幹
もどきを残しておいたせいで、
そこからの新梢がのびていて、その整理
をやってます。これが終わると本格的に
誘引をやることになりそうです。

畑ではまだ、葡萄の花の匂いが強いですが、
ほとんどの房は落花して、小さな実をつけて
います。今のところ、細長いちょっととがった粒
ですが、房らしくなるころには、葡萄の粒は
真ん丸くなります。

良い葡萄になりますように。

It was raining hard almost whole day
yesterday. Then it was very wet in the
vineyards this morning. I had to put on
rain wear and I sweat like in a sauna bath
after the sun coming up.

It was warm until after lunch time but
then it turned to be a bit chilly with
short sleeve shirt.　Wierd weather.

Today I was doing desuckering of Pinot
Noir. The vines have many suckers from
the reserve trunks which I had intended to keep
just in case after the cold injury two
years ago. If any damage occurred in the
main trunk, I would be able to change
it to a reserve one.
After this operation, training of
new shoots upward and downward will be
starting.

I can still smell grape flowers in the vineyard
but many inflorescence dropped flowers and began
to bear baby fruit. They are rather oval shape at
this moment but will be round after a while when you
recognize the bunch.

Hope they will become good fruit
to make good wine.

房切りの時季になると、中村幹雄さんのことを思い出す。
房きりが終わって2週間になろうとしているが、
今日はその幹雄さんの3周忌だ。

5年前にオーストラリアから帰ってきて就農。
その時研修生として受け入れてくれたのが
中村さんだった。

巨峰栽培等研修させて
もらいながら、自分でも畑を借りて巨峰の実地栽培と
ワイン葡萄の栽培を始めたのだ。
初めに植えたメルローの畑を見つけてくれたのも
当時農業委員だった中村さんだった。
ワイン畑をさらに借り増ししようとした時、
増やすのは研修が終わってからの方がいいのではないかと
アドバイスしてくれたが、
それでは遅くなってしまうと無理を言って
植えたのがシャルドネだ。

強引に初めた手前、借りた畑は頼ることなく
何とか自力で乗り切ろうと、
どうにかこうにか巨峰の房切りを
していたら、夫婦して指導と手伝いに来てくれた。
園地点検前の摘粒の時もそうだった。

また、巨峰の世話に時間をとられて
余りワイン葡萄に手が廻らず、畑を草ぼうぼう
にしてしまったことがあった。そんな時
中村さんは、ほら見たことかとは一切言わずに、
トラクターに草刈機をつけて畑に来て
苗木が見えないほど伸びてしまった草を
ご夫婦で刈ってくれた。

私は、情けないやら申し訳ないやらで
言葉に表せないほどありがたい思いをしたものだ。
草丈があまりに高かったために、
トラクターがかなり熱くなってしまい、
帰路途中でエンストを起こしているのではないかと心配になり、
畑の後片始末をしたあと中村さんが
帰っただろう道をたどって帰ったものだ。

不治の病とわかってからは長男の一彦さんが
家に戻って農業を初め、その指導と技術の継承
に心血を注いでおられました。

また農地を守るためには、5反分ルールが必要だと
熱く語っていた農業のプロで、仲間の農業者
も皆バリバリのプロだった。
何故あんな良い人が早く逝かなければならない
のか。今もやりきれなさを感じている。

いまでも房切りの時期になると
「ほら、そんなやり方じゃ日が暮れちゃうぞ」
という叱咤激励の声が聞こえる。
あの時、あんな風に言われたなあ、
やってくれたなあ、と懐かしく思い出されます。
ありがとうございました。

昨夜フラから帰ると
知人が急遽今日コンサートを
峰の原でやることになったと
案内があった。

昨夜は疲労のままに休んで
今日も朝から昨日の片付け。
雨も降ったり止んだり。

午後コンサートへの参加のメールを
入れる。思いついて、できたら
アンコールでサティの「おまえが
ほしい（Je te veux）」をやって
もらえないかとリクエスト。

北石輝三トリオとして、
サックス　北石輝三
ヴァイオリン　大井俊恵
ピアノ　小林令子
のお三方。皆音楽のプロだ。
ちなみに　キタイシテルゾー
というのは、もちろん芸名です。

何故こんなレベルの高いコンサートに
無料で参加できるのか、不思議です。
曲目もポップス、ボサノバ、タンゴ、
等々親しみ深いもので、
お茶を飲みながらのリラックスした雰囲気
もとてもフレンドリーです。

おまけにリクエストの曲も演奏して
頂いて感謝感謝です。　こんな
コンサートが頻繁にあればいいな、
というのはかなり贅沢な望みです。
でも、キタイシテルゾー！

Upon my return home after
hula-hula last night,
I found a message of a
concert which was suddenly decided
to be held at Minenohara.

I went to bed without reply because of
the fatigue. I was busy this morning
to clean up of the yesterday's event in
the changing weather of rain and shine.

In the afternoon, I replied to
my friend saying that I would
attend the concert and that I had a request
of 'Je te veux' by Satie for an encore mucic.

The players were Teruzo Kitaishi Trio with
Teruzo Kitaishi - Sax
Toshie Oi - Viloin, and
Reiko Kobayashi - Piano
They are all professional
players.
Of course Kitaishi Truzo is a stage name
which sounds just a common name but actually
means Great Expectation phonetically.

Why does it cost nothing for such a high level
concert? The music palyed included pops,
bosanoba, and tango! They were all popular
and familar ones. The audiences were encouraged
to relax, having drinks and even chatting.
It was a very friendly concert.

I was specially happy as they played my requested
music by the piano and the violin. Thank you very
much. I wish to have such a concert more often even
though I know it is a luxurioius one. But
I do so with Great Expectation!

雨の予報が、目が覚めると
外をSSが何台か通る音がする。
車のタイヤの音も水を踏む音
ではない。

こんな日に消毒するのかと思いながらも、
雨ではないなと思いながら起き上がる。

午前中は蒸し暑い中、シラーズの
誘引を終える。午後は、一休みして
から知り合いのイベントのお手伝い。
BBQの担当。

コンパネ、りんごのコンテナー（イス代わり）、
BBQセットの用意して、頼んでおいた肉・野菜・
焼きそばを運ぶ。これだけでも結構汗が出る。
場所は　ホア・ピリ　というハワイ語で
「仲間」という名前の喫茶店前。

夕刻イベントが始まる。それなりに若い方と
それなりにご年配の方々が、フラを歌い、
フラを踊る。ミュージックはライブの本格派。

やはり練習を積んでいるのだろう、手足、腰
の動きがしなやかだ。フラというのは、
一つ一つの動作が意味が持つと聞いているが、
踊りを踊る人達をみていると、Hulaに
魅了されている様子が理解できる。

私はまだその魅力が何たるかを
知らないが、心を揺さぶるものが
あるのだろうな、と思ったりした。

It was forecasted rain this morning
but I can hear Speed Sprayers passing by
outside. The sound of other viechles is not
the one that sprash the rain water.

I wondered why the sparying was carried out
on such a wet day as I got up.

In the morning, I continued the training
of Shiraz vines in very humid and warm weather.
In the afternonn, I helped my friends for
their event. I was in charge of BBQ.
The venue was at the space in front of
cafe called Hoa Pipili which means colleagues
or friends in Hawaii language.

I brought boards for table and apple
harvest container for chairs. I rented
a BBQ equipments and brought meats, veges and
fried noodles.

The event started in the evening.
The ladies at young and old ages sang and
dance hula accompanied by live music.

I can tell that those people did a lot of
excercise because their movement of hands and
body are very smooth. I hear that each movement
of body has own meaning in hula-hula. I can tell
those dancers are attracted by the charms of the
dance.

I have not understood the charm yet but I can
easily imagine that the dance has something
that moves the people.

I am trying to train Shiraz in order
to achieve more fruitfulness next year.
The number of inflorescence is more than
expected before which makes me relieved
a bit.
