玉ねぎなんですが。

今朝何とか沼目越瓜の
植え付け。玉ねぎの総採り。

What's this flower ?

This is the flower of a vegatble
with strange vegetation - onion.

We planted Numame white melon and
harvested all the remainig onions
this morning some how.

朝からの雨が午後は一変して
厳しい夏の日差しと
なり、気温も真夏なみとなった。
昨日の峰の原の気候が
羨ましいところ。

今日は夏至、という
事もあり今年一番遅くまで
畑にいた。

シャルドネ畑で摘芯しながら
先週お手伝いの二人にお願い
した誘引の一部手直し。

摘芯とは、新梢の上を切る
ことだが、「とめる」という
表現をする。

暗くなって倉庫でウロウロしていたら
近所の方が、これを植えろと茄子の
苗を二つ持って来てくれた。
ありがたく頂き、マルチの
端に植えました。

The morning rain changed into
mid-summer sun shine in the afternoon
and the temprerature rised very high.
The highland breeze of Minenohara
yesterday was a dream here.

It was teh summer solstice today and
I was able to stay working in the
vineyard very late.

I did topping of Chardonnay new
shoots while changing the training
done by the helpers last week.

Topping means to cut the top of
the new shoots which is the growth
point to diver energy to the bunch
rather than growth.

After the vineyard, I was at my
hut when one of the neighbour came
to give me young eggplant to plant
in my small yard. I received them
with thanks and planted at the edge
of the mulching.

変な写真。
私の体と影です。
右から胸からお腹、足の一部、
そして地面に映る影。
もし明日曇りなら、今年中
に見られる私の影のうちで
一番短い影となります。
お昼ちょうどに撮りました。
明後日以降は影は長くなる
だけです。

この写真を撮った後、
東京から友人が来るので
地元のサクランボの直売所へ
行きました。お客さんで一杯です。
知り合いですから、袋を渡されて
脚立にのって自分の分は自分で
とることに。図らずもサクランボ狩り。

この時期サクランボを作っている
農家は超多忙です。体気をつけて。

友人宅で頂いた和菓子。
清流の川底をイメージ
しているような。
午後お茶を頂いてちょっと気が緩んだら
眠くなってしまいました。

A weird photo ?
It's my body and the shadow.
From right to left, my chest,
belly, legs and the shadow of
my body on the ground.
It it is not sunny tomorrow,
this is the shortest shadow of the
year that was taken at noon.
From the day after tomorrow, the shadow
will just grow longer.

After taking this photo, I went
to a local cherry farmer's shop to
buy some cherries for my friends from
Tokyo. The shop was very crowded.
The owner, I know him very well, gave me
a plastic bag and pointed out the
cherry orchard. I happened to have to
pick the fruit by myself.
The cherry growers are very very busy
this harvest time. Please take care!

This Japanese confection was served
for tea at my friend's. It seems the bottom
of clear water in summer. After some tea in
very relaxing atmoshper under the trees,
I felt realy sleepy in the afternoon.

午後用事があって
仙仁温泉岩の湯さんを訪ねた。
（ここでは私のワインを出してくれて
いるのです。）

暑い午後ゆえ、仁礼といえども
ひんやりとはゆかない。が、
うっそうとした木の中を
中に入ると不思議に落ち着いた
気持ちになる、到着するまでの
外界とは違う世界がある。

写真の向こう側が入り口の門。

そして背側が旅館の入り口。

極たまに、ここの喫茶室を利用させて
もらっている。都会からの友人を
誘って個室に仕切られた部屋に入ると
大概驚かれる。
瀬音と緑とプライバシー。
落ち着くね～。

I visited Iwano-yu, Seni-Onsen, a Japanese style
hot spa inn this afternoon for a business.
(They serve my wines as a matter of fact.)

As it was very warm in the afternoon,
it was not cooling around there even though
they are situated in Nirei area in Suzaka.
However, entering into the property after the
gate covered with trees, I found myself feeling
very calm in the area so much different
from the world I had just driven up here.

There is the gate beyond the green and
the backside of the photo is the entrance
to the inn.

I used the tea room of the inn from time
to time but not so often. Whenever I take my
frineds from the big cities, they are all surprised
with the atmosphere of the private room covered
with the sound of the small river below,
greenery in the window and the privacy.
The serenity makes us very calm and relaxing.

今年5月2日に植えた新しいメルロー
の畑。苗木は順調に育っています。
畝間の草刈を終え、
今は激しく伸びる雑草に埋まらないよう、
虫に食われないように、苗木の周りの
草むしりです。結構腰にきます。
ようやく3分の1ほど終わりました。

そんな苗木のてっぺんにナナホシテントウが。
草刈をしていると、いろんな虫を見かけますが、
蜘蛛やら天道虫やらミミズは大事にしています。
生物多様性を心がけています…なんちゃって。

This is the new Merlot vineyard where we planted
young vines on May 2 this year. The vines seem
to grow smoothly.

After mowing the inter-vines and now I am
pulling weeds around the new vines so that
they would not be buried by the weeds and that
they would not be eaten by borer catapillars.
This weed control work is hard on your back.
So far I have finished one third of the
vineyard.

I found a seven spots ladybug on top of
a young vine. While working on the vines,
I find many small bugs and I try not to
disturb spiders, ladybugs, earthworms, etc.
I always think about the sustainable
biodiversity. Isn't is a good idea, is it?
