今年植えた山葡萄。
だいぶ大きくなりました。
病気にもかからず健康優良児
です。来年以降が楽しみです。

Wild grape, a Japanese
indigenous grape- visit amrensis
or vitis coignito, I planted this
Spring is growing very big, healthy
without disease infection at all.
A very strong and healthy grape.
I hope to get good grapes from them
next year onwards.

9月の予定が大分入って来た。
JAの巨峰出荷開始が2日。といっても
出荷できる葡萄があるかというのが
もっぱらの挨拶。
26日、27日が後楽園ドームシティ・
プリズムホールでの”大信州市”。
10月2日、3日と連続で週末の
イベント（ふるさとフェア）。
そして、JAの出労日等々。巨峰の
収穫が始まればほぼ毎日朝から夜まで
荷造りと発送、出荷だ。

そんな中でなかなか決まらないのが
ワイン葡萄の収穫会だ。何せ葡萄の
熟期がまだ読めないのだ。いつもなら
9月半ばから始まるのだが、今年は
遅れるだろうことが目に見えている。
そうなると、イベントのスケジュール
と重なるので、どうも今年は平日の
収穫が多くなりそう。或いは5連休の
最後あたりか。

また追ってお知らせしますね。

Schedule for September is getting
fixed. Starting with the first shipment
of Kyoho grapes to JA on September 2,
my schdule is follwed by the work day
at JA Grape Center, two events at Tokyo
Dome City Prism Hall on 26 and 27,
Suzaka Country Fair in Tokyo on the
follwoing weekend, etc. Once the harvest
of Kyoho begins, I have to pick, pack
and ship the grapes everyday no matter
what happens.

The winegrape harvest schedule has not
been fixed yet because I cannot tell when
I can start harvesting the grape yet.
The ripening of the grapes is expected
delayed this year. Usually I can start
at around the mid September but because of
the delay and the event schedule at the
end of the month, I would guess that it would
take place during week days in later
part of September, or it will fall on the
last day of the consecutive public holidays
(autumn golden week or silver week).

In any case, I will make it known at later
date so that many of you can prepare for the
winegrape picking.

例年お盆を過ぎると秋を感じさせる
風が吹くのだが、今年はお盆を過ぎて
ようやく夏の暑さと日差しが続いた。
1週間ほどして東京から戻ると、
昨日、今日と秋を感じさせるという
よりは秋そのものの天候だ。

早朝からの薬剤散布（今回も
ボルドー）も、2日に分けてやる分
を1日で済ますことができた。
お昼すぎまでかかったが。

午後は巨峰露地ものの出荷総会。
ぶどうセンターの20周年記念式典
等もあり、夕刻まで。
秋の風に周囲の山も秋色に
みえた。

We always have autumn breeze after
Obon Festival week in normal year
but we had summer heat and sunshine
only after Obon week this year.
However, yesterday and today, we have real
autumn weather rather than autumn air
when I returned home from Tokyo.

It was rather cold this morning
today and I was able to finish
spraying bordeaux solution in
the vineyards which usually
needs two days in summer time.

We had a grapgrowers meeting this
afternoon which takes place before
the growers start shipping kyoho
grapes. The meeting only finished
late afternoon when I found the
mountains seemed to wear autumn
colors.

麻布十番納涼祭りが終わり
今日帰って来た。期間中お昼から
午後10時半まで一度もトイレに行かずに
済んだくらい汗をかいた。
そのせいか、今日は東京から帰ってくる
高速で、4回ほど休憩した。
眠かったのです。

さて、それはともかく。
期間中出店小間においで下さった
皆様ありがとうございました。
数年～十年ぶりくらいにあう友人達や
去年須坂に尋ねてくれた方々。
ワインや巨峰のお客様がた
ありがとうございました。
また、TMNスキースクール関係の
大勢の方々が顔を出して頂いて
とても嬉しかったです。
タイミング悪く、私が忙しくしていて
ゆっくりと話をする時間もとれずに
失礼してしまった方々お詫び申し上げます。
せっかく足を運んでくださったのに…。
もっと沢山試飲してもらえればと。

また、私の不手際を見かねて
呼び込みをかって出たくれた
小学生のまりあちゃんにもなみちゃん
ありがとう。「信州のおいしいりんごジュース
いかがですか～」というかわいい声と姿に
大勢の方がりんごジュースを
注文してくれました。
おかげでジュース類は完売でした。
…来年も是非！

フリーのお客さんや知り合いの方々からの
多くの応援を頂き、いい葡萄、いいワインを
つくらないと、と思いを新たにしています。
ありがとうという言葉以外に感謝の
気持ちを表す適当な言葉が見つかりません。

皆様、今後もよろしくお願いします。

Azabu Juban Summer Festival is
over and I returned from Tokyo today.
During the festival days, I did not go
to restroom at all after lunch until 10:30pm
when I returned to the hotel which means
I sweat a lot. No wonder I felt tired today
and had to stop for rest four times on the
express way on the way back from Tokyo
to Nagano.

Now, I thank you very much for everybody
who visited my booth at the festival. They
were some of my friends whom I had not met
for long long time, some visited me in Suzaka
last year, some are my wine and kyoho grape
customers, and especially many TMN Ski School
members. I was so glad to see you all there!

I have to apologize that I was not able
to spare enough time to chat due to many
customers who ordered my wines and juice.
I wished that I should have been able to
offer more tasting of my wines, etc. to
those who had come long way to see me.

Special thanks to little Maria-chan and
Monami-chan who helped me to call out
'tasty apple juice from Shinshu' to
get more customers for me. Both of you
did a great job and many cutomers
could not help but ordered a cup of
apple juice. I wish you will come
next year again!

At such quite a few free customers
and my friends visiting my booth
and supported me, I felt very firmly
that I should try harder to grow
better grapes and make better wines.

Any how, I sincerely thank you all
who visited me at this occasion
and I cannot find a way to express
my feeling other than just saying
thank you!

明日8月21日（金）から23日（日）
午後3時から午後9時まで、
麻布十番納涼祭り　おらがくに自慢に
出店のため上京します。

去年は3日間とも雨にたたられましたが
今年は天気は良さそうです。その代わり
暑いかも。

去年はこんな感じでした。
今年も同じ看板を探して下さい。
去年の場所の近くで出ています。

地方の名産品が集まるので
楽しみながら屋台を
ひやかしてみて下さい。

As informed before, I will be part of
Azabu Juban Summer Festival for
the period of Aug.21 through Aug.23
from 3pm till 9pm. I will sell my wines
and juices.

We had rain for three days in a row
last year but fine weather is expected
this year. Instead, it can be very hot.

This is the picture from last year. Please
look for the same sign I will be around the
same place as last year.

As there are many local foods from
most part of Japan, please come and
enjoy walking, eating and drinking
in the streets.

I hope to see many of my friends and
customers there.
