今日の収穫はセミヨン。
5年目と4年目となり
予想よりかなり多く、
また丁寧に房作りをして
もらったのでかなり時間が
かかってしまった。
今日予定の3年目のソーヴィニオン・
ブランは少ししか取り掛かれなかった。

今日は東京からCKPRの皆さんが参加。
これで5年目ですね、毎年ありがとう
ございます。

そして、楽器代をアルバイトで
捻出したいとの申し出により
長野東高校吹奏楽部の生徒さん。

更に更に、昨日に引き続き
Club T.M.N.から井上さん、
宮島夫妻、石井さん、阿部さん
が、遅くまで支えてくれました。
皆さん遠くまで帰るのに
本当にありがとうございました。
（すみません。皆さんの写真が無い！）

その他いろいろ協力してくれた
方々感謝します。

何とか明日頑張れば、倉庫前の
ソーヴィニオン・ブランも収穫
できそうです。

色んな人に支えられて何とか
ずっていってます（須坂弁です。
何とか前進している、何とかなってる、
という意味）。

Semillon is for today's harvest.
They are five and four year-old vines
and the harvested amount was more than
expected. And as it took us long time
to clean the bunches, we were not able to
finish Sauvignon Blanc of its third year.

I received guest pickers today from
Tokyo. They are from CKPR company who
have helped me already five time now.
Thank you for your participation every
year.

Students from Nagano Higashi High Schol
were the member of brass-band team who
wished to earn by themselves for
their music instruments.

In addition to them, I have again some
members from Club T.M.N. for two days
in a row. Mr.Inoue, Mr.& Mrs. Miyajima,
Mr. Ishii and Ms. Abe helped me
until we put the containers on the truck
even though they had to go back home
by long car drive. I hope you will have
reached home safe.

Many thanks to those who
helped me in many ways.

Tomorrow, I will try to finish
SB vineyard with much efforts and
friends' hands, too.

Because of those bona fide people's help,
I can somehow make progress.

今日ソーヴィニオン・ブランの
収穫会。朝方寒いくらいだったのが
収穫を始めて皆暑い暑いというくらいの
日差し。参加者のClub T.M.N.の皆さん
は真剣に房整理をしながら収穫して
下さいました。ひたすら
房と格闘していたため黙々と
淡々と作業が進みました。

さて、そろそろお昼のBBQの準備をと
火をおこしてしばらくすると雨。
パラパラが一時は本格的に降ってきて
あーお昼をどうしよう、テントを借りてくれば
良かったなどと、主催者はうろたえてしまいました。
天気予報を今頃恨んでみても意味の無いこと。

ところがうろうろするのは私だけで、
20人ほどの皆さんは、アー雨だ～！
どうしよう！などという人は一人もなく。
何事も無かった様に、皆合羽を着て
お昼の集合がかかるまで雨のなか
黙々と収穫を続けてくれました。
葡萄が濡れない方がいいというと
ブルーシートの下に集めてくれたり。

いや～ちょっと驚きの光景でした。
私は雨具の用意などとは一言も言ってないのですが。
流石テレマークスキーヤー、アウトドアでの
鍛えられ方が違いますね。みなさんその上、
マイ箸はおろか、マイカップ、マイ皿、
マイ水筒持参ですから。
確かに一般人ではないです。

おかげで綺麗な葡萄が収穫できました。
これと明日収穫するセミヨンで
また美味しいワインができますよ。

Club T.M.N.の皆さん、そしてキノコ汁を
持って来てくれた高津さん、お手伝いいただいた
方々ありがとうございました。

We harvested Suavignon Blanc today.
It was cold in the morning but then
we had warm sunshine. The particpants
of ClubT.M.N. members became so serious
to clean picked bunches. The operation
went on in enjoyable atmospher at first then
every body became silent.

After I started preparing for lunch and
when I made fire for BBQ, it started raining.
It was drizzling first then it rained indeed.
I wonder how I was able to continue the
lunch preparation in the rain. I though I should
have borrowed turp. I did not expect rain so
early according to the weather forecast.

However, an amazing sight developed
in front of me. Under such rain, nobdoy
made a fuss at all or rather they just
pulled their rain coat out of the bags
and put on. Then went back to where
they had been picking grapes. All of the
about twenty people continued the
operation as if nothing special had happened.
When I told them (because somebody asked) to
cover grapes from the rain, they gathered
harvest container under a blue seat.
They just did it without any complain about
sudden change of the weather.

Wow these guys are different. These
telemark skiers are really trained
outdoor guys. What is more, they
had their own chopsticks, mug, saucer
and thermos. I had not mentioned
to bring rain gears.

Thanks to them, I had very clean
grapes this year again. I can have
another beautiful wine together with
Semillon grapes that we will pick
tomorrow.

members, Mr. and Mrs.Takatsu who
brought very tasty mushroom soup,
and all the people who supported
today's harvest!

明日が今年初めての収穫会。
ソーヴィニオン・ブランを
採ります。メンバーは去年も
同じ葡萄を採って頂いた
Club T.M.N.の方々。去年は
葡萄が大分病気にかかっていました。
が、大変な思いで病気果を除いて
収穫していただいたおかげで
大評判のセミヨン/ソーヴィニオン・
ブラン　2008　ができました。
昨年より2週間遅れですが、
今年はどうか。より以上の
ワインができるように祈りながら
の収穫です。

人数が当初より大分増えたので（嬉しい！）
夕刻食糧を買い足しにスーパーマーケットに。
おいしそうな烏賊があったので
買って帰って下拵え。明日のBBQ
で烏賊もデビューです。

Tomorrow is the first harvest gathering
of this vintage. We will pick Sauvignon
Blanc. The pickers are the members of
Club T.M.N. who enjoy telemark ski.
They came to pick the same grape last
year. Thanks to their patience with the
bad shaped grape, we now have a very
good wine this year. The harvest
is delayed by two weeks this year
but we hope we will have better
wine this year.

I am so happy there will be so many
participants tomorrow. Therefore
I had to go to buy more food for
tomorrow. As I happened to find
good row squid, I bought some
and prepared for BBQ. It's the first
sea food served at BBQ in the vineyard.
Hope it will be fine tomorrow.

今朝は叩きつけるような雨音と
立木を倒すかと思われるほどの
風の音に起こされる…はずだったの
だが、存外静かな朝であった。
雲が垂れ込めて薄暗く、雨はそれなりに
降っているのだが風は全くといっていいほど
無い。午前中に長野県を横切って
近くを通ったはずなのだが。お昼くらいに薄日が
さすほどの明るさになったのが
台風の目だったのか。

もういいだろうと午後3時近く、
用事を足す為に外出する頃になって
再び雨脚が強まり、横殴りの風が吹いて
来た。直に止むだろうと考えたが
その後5時過ぎまで結構吹いていた。
峰の原は雲の中で、まるで台風の中に
いるような風であった。

各地から葡萄は大丈夫かとメールや
電話を頂きました。ありがとうございます。
強風が吹いてからは畑を見てないので
なんともいえませんが、あの調子だと
棚は壊れる事もなく、葡萄も
無事だと思われます。明日見回って
見ます。

Because of the trenching rain and
the violently blowing wind, I was
supposed to be waken up. However,
despite of the sound of heavy rain,
it was rather a quieter morning ...
than expected.

It was cloudy and dark morning
with the rain but almost no wind
at all. The typhoon should have
passed through Nagano prefecture
over around here.
It should have been the eye
of the typhoon when it got brighter
at around noon time.

I went out at around 3pm thinking
the typhoon had been far away by that
time but it suddenly started raining
much heavily and the strong wind
started blowing. I thought it would
stop soon but it finally continued
until around 5pm. In Minenohara highland,
I was in the thick cloud with strong wind
which reminded me of the Night Flight.

I received e-mail messages and calls from
my friends asking about the grape. Thank you
for your worrying me and the grapes, they
should be all OK at least no problem in the
morning. I will check the damage to
the vineyards tomorrow which might have
occurred in the afternoon wind.

First harvest of winegrape

昨日からリースリングを獲り始めた。
今日は霧雨のなか収穫を続け
とり終わると同時位に本格的な
雨。今は台風のせいで大分強く
降っている。
雨の中ワイナリーに持ち込み
仕込方法の打ち合わせ。

今週はピノノワールを収穫する積もり
だったのが来週に延期。
10日はソーヴィニオン・ブラン、
11日はセミヨン、17日にシャルドネ
という予定まで決めた。この間
巨峰の収穫と出荷も続く。

ワイナリーではこれから瓶詰めする
ワインに一喜一憂。毎回印象が
違うのには慣れたとはいえ…。

I started the harvest of Riesling yesterday.
I continued to pick the grape with helpers
in the drizzling rain which turned to
rain heavily when we finished
the harvest. Now the rain gets harder
due to the Typhoon No.18. I took the
grapes to the winery and discussed
about the fermentation.

Pinot noir was supposed to be picked
this week but I postponed it to
next week. Sauvignon Blanc is scheduled
on 10th followed by Semillon on the
next day and Chardonnay on 17th.
I have to continue to pick Kyoho
grapes during the week, too.

At the winery, I tasted the wines to be
bottled soon and was pleased and/or
disappointed with the taste. I am supposed
to understand the change of imporession
every time but still each tasting makes me
anxious.
