No chemicals and naturally dried rice.

初めての米つくり。
除草剤は使わず（つまり無農薬）、車の
チェーンを加工してそれを引きずって
物理的に除草。稲刈りの後はざかけをして
自然に乾燥。そして今日脱穀。
早速精米して頂きました。
ぴかぴかの新米。うまい！
できすぎかも。やおよろずの神に感謝。

It was my first rice growing this year.
I did not use chemicals for weed control and
used vehicle chain to remove young weed in the
paddy. After harvesting, the rice were dried
naturally on the horizontal bar in the paddy.

Today we threshed rice mechanically then polished
them by coin polishing machine. After cooking, the rice
shined like pearl. It tastes great!
It is an unexpected success which is too much.
I have to thank eight hundreds
and eight gods said to be around us.

前夜の雨が上がった朝。
山々に雲が薄くかかって、稜線を
幾重にも薄墨色に浮き上がらせる。

In the morning when the night rain was over,
the clouds in the mountain were moving upwards in the sky and
the multiple mountain ridges were seen in
their light gray color.

非常に状態がいい。
収穫しても大丈夫なほど糖度はあがっている。
ただ、今年は他の赤用品種も同時期にとる予定を
している。そちらが今一糖度があがっていない。
23日か30日かといったら30日の方が
よさそうではある。あと一週間でどの程度
あがるか。

The bunches look good and the sugar level
is high enough for harvest. However, the harvest
of other red wine cultivars is planned on and around
the same day this year, and the sugar level of other
grapes are not high enough yet. It would be either
23 or 30 and the latter seems better now. I wonder if
the total soluble solid (TTS) level becomes high
enough in one week.

朝雨が少し降ってどうなるかと思ったが
午後2時頃まで何とかもった。
房が大きく、また葡萄の状態もよく、
とり甲斐のある収穫会でした。

午後、別の畑で収穫を始めたら雨。
葡萄をワイナリーに運んで戻ると、
な、何と、雨の中参加者の皆さんが雨具を着て
収穫を続けていてくださった。感謝感謝です。
さすが、自然派アウトドア派の皆さん。
少々の雨など気にせずとりきって頂きました。
ありがとうございます。

皆さんのおかげで今日中におよそ1000キロの
葡萄を収穫できました。明日も雨の予報が出ているので
今日午後収穫できて本当に助かりました。

風邪など召されませぬよう。

As it rained a bit in the morning, it made me
worry about today’s grape picking. But somehow the
weather did not get worsen and we had no problem
in picking grapes. The rain started in the afternoon.
The bunches were big and the　grape condition was
very good so we enjoyed a lot in the morning..
Even after I got back from winery, the volunteer pickers
were still in the vineyard picking grapes in the rain.
I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
Most of them are outdoor life lovers and did not care
much about such weather condition and finish the
expected area.

Thanks to them, we picked about 1,000kilo within today.
It was so grateful as the rain is expected tomorrow.
