新しいワインラベルを使い始めました。
デザインは阿部さん。
アオスジアゲハをお願いしました。
素敵なラベルにして頂きました。

アオスジアゲハは比較的温暖な地域でよく
見かける蝶で、最近では首都圏でも多くなった
ようです。この蝶は、卵をクスノキ（及びそれに近い
樹）の葉に産み付けます。そして孵った蛹はクスノキの
葉を食べて成長します。クスノキに託された卵が孵り
その樹によって育ち。蝶になって多くの人達の
目を、気持ちを和ませてくれています。

このラベルは主に自社農園産ではない葡萄から作った
ワインに使っています。葡萄は私達が作ったものでは
ありませんが、各地の栽培家により愛情をこめて
育てられた葡萄が私達に託され、今度は私達の愛情をこめて
醸造され北信州の気候風土の中で熟成してワインになります。
そして多くの方々の心を和ますものであって欲しい。

そんな関係がクスノキとアオスジアゲハの関わりに
似ているように思えたのです。

アオスジアゲハの事は、久保さんから
教えて頂きました。

We started using the new label with a butterfly known
as Common Bluebottle. This beautiful design is made by
Abe-san who also made the design of our estate wines.

The butterfly is usually grown in warm region and
has been seen often in Tokyo area recently. The butterfly lays
its eggs in the camphor tree (Kusunoki in Japanese) leaf.
The pupa eats and grows in the tree and finally becomes
Common Bluebottle, and pleases the eyes of many people.
We feel happy and enjoy to see such butterflies fly in the nature
and in the busy town, too.

This new label is used for the wines of which grapes were
grown carefully by other viticulturists. These grapes are
committed to us, made into wines with love at our winery
and are nourished in the nature of north of Shinshu
(Kita Shinshu) which is our region.
We hope the wines will help soften the heart and mind
of those who drink it.

The relationship between the camphor tree and the
common bluebottle seems very similar to the one
between those grapes and the finished wines which we hope
to help ease the people who drink it.

Kubo-san kindly told me about the commom bluebottle.

White wine good for health, beauty and longevity

まるで夢の様なお話ですが…。
今日、長野県の長寿の秘密を調べている医療ジャーナリスト
の方がお出でになり教えてくれました。

白ワインにはダイエット効果があり、しかもAGEs（エージーイー＝たんぱく質と糖質から
なるある種の物質の総称で100種類ほどあるらしい。老化を進める物質として広く
知られるようになって来ているようです。）の働きを阻害する効果が高いそうなのです。

AGEは、糖尿病、ガン、骨粗しょう症、アルツハイマー症、白内障、シワ・シミ等々
の原因物質であり、コラーゲン（血管もコラーゲンで出来ている）の老化も促進する
物質だそうです。ですから、このAGEの生成や働きを
抑えることが重要なのだそうですが、白ワインにはそんな働きがあると…。

赤ワインに多量に含まれるポリフェノールが、フレンチパラドックスの様に健康に良い効果があるということは今や常識になりつつありますが、「アンチエイジングには白ワイン」
という時代がそこまできているのかも知れません。

ワイン好きのお医者様が多い様ですが、こんなところにも理由があるのかな？

これを教えてくれたジャーナリストの方は、楠ワイナリーのシャルドネをお買い求め
になりました。「健康長寿痩身美肌に須坂の白ワイン」が常識になったりして…。

It sounds like a fairy tale but it seems to be true.
A medical journalist who visited our winery today taught
me about it.

According to his explanation and to what I found in internet,
white wine is effective for weight loss and very effective in
restricting the activities of AGEs which consist of protein and
lipid, around 100 kinds are said to be known and are
produced in human body accelerating aging.

AGEs are considered to cause the diabetes, cancers, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease,
Cataract, blots and wrinkles, etc., and accelerate the aging of collagen. So it
is very important to prevent the production and activities of AGEs. White wine is very
effective for such prevention. (AGEs often become the theme of TV topics and the famous ASA-ICHI program featured this material recently. Let’s check it up in the intenet.)

Many people recognize the effectiveness of red wine for our health by its polyphenol
by the famous French Paradox story. I wonder the time has come just around the corner that white wine is good for anti-aging. It reminds me that there are so many doctors who like wines. Is it because their intuition for health naturally turns them towards wines.

The medical journalist purchased our Chardonnay after the talk. I wonder, one day
there is a time that people would say “White wines from Suzaka is good for anti-aging.”
