先週末のテレビ（BSフジ　「辰巳琢郎の
ワイン番組」　という番組）で
私のセミヨン/ソーヴィニオン・ブラン2008
が紹介されました。
30分番組なのに結構
丁寧に紹介して頂き、
見た方からは好印象
だったとコメント頂きました。

One of my wines　Semillon/Sauvgnion Blanc 2008
was introduced on TV last week end.
On the 30 -minute prgram, they took some
time for my wines which gave good impressions
to the viewes, according to my friends.

One of my friends who watched the prgram
kindly told me that the wine was on the
websited of the program. Please check the

I had a nod from St. Cousair Winery that
they would sell that wine at their selected
number of direct shops in Nagano shortly.
St. Cousair Winery is the one that made
my grapes into wines on contract.

真夏の様な暑い日が続く。
今日も畑ではお手伝いの
二人にメルローの誘引を
お願いした。

私は今年植えたメルロー畑の
草刈り。花の咲いている苗も。
その後誘引ワイヤを
もう少し高くするために
中柱の延長材を取り付け。

午後７時近く夕陽が
葡萄畑の向こう、
飯綱山に沈もうとしています。

It was again another very warm day
like a mid summer sunny day.

I asked two young helpers to train
the new shoots of Merlot vineyard.

I was mowing in the newly planted
Merlot vineyard where I found a
small inflorescence
and move to an older
vineyard to install extensions
to the mid posts of the vineyard
to move up training wires a bit
higher.

At around 7pm, the sun was about
to sink behind the Iizuna Mountain
over the vineyards.

最近の大雨で元気になったのか、
ワイン葡萄の誘引をしていると
カエルがたくさん。
毎度おなじみではありますが、
何匹か以下にご紹介します。
お好きでない方は
見ないほうがいいです。

所で誘引ですが、
私の畑ではこんな感じ
です(ピノ・ノワールの場合)。
右側が誘引前の列で、
左側がアフターです。

Because of the recent heavy rain,
they should have got revitalized.
I found many frogs on the vives while
training new shoots in the winegrape
vineyards. Nothing starnge but I will
take liberty to introduce a few
dwellers as below. Please do not scroll
down if you feel sick by seeing them.

Oh by the way, new shoot training
in my vineyards look as this in my
Pinot Noir vineyard today.
Right: before training (sprawl).

といっても私が知らないだけ
だったという事なのだが。
昨日の写真は玉ねぎの
いわゆる葱坊主なのだが、
これは玉ねぎの中心から
かなりしっかりした茎というのか
青い部分がスクッと伸びて
その上にできる。
「とうたち」ともいうらしい。
とうたちした茎の、玉ねぎの
部分は固くなり、
煮ても焼いても食べられない
代物になる。

玉ねぎの畑は、収穫間際は
ほとんどの茎が寝てしまって
いるのだが、とうたちしたのは
いつまでもスクッと立っている。

面倒なのは、苗をうえる時点では
どの苗がとうたちするかわからないのだ。
知人の経験では、植えた苗の半分が
とうたちしてしまったことがあるという。
一方、全くとうたちしない年もあるのだ。

聞くところによると、巷説だから理由も
確証もないが、古い種を撒いたり
種を撒くのが早すぎると（苗をまず作るので）
とうたちするらしい。なんでかな～？
不思議な野菜です。

Saying so, it is because
I just did not know it.
The picture of onion flower
yesterday is so-called
Negi-Bozu (literally means
onion monk) which is on top
of the shoot staning on the
center of onion in the ground.
It is called Toutachi. The onion
with Toutachi is so hard to eat
and are always discarded in the
farm.

At the harvest of onion, all the shoots
lie on the ground but Toutachi shoot
stands still.

The problem is that nobody can tell
which baby onion become Toutachi or
become normal onion. According to my
friend, she had half of the onion
with Toutachi in one year and 100%
normal onion in other year.

It is said that, I am not sure
if it is true or not, Totachi
would appear from the old seeds
or if the seeds were planted too
early to make baby onion.
I really wonder why that is?
Don't you think it is a weird vege?
