今年農協の推奨するある野菜を作った。
JA須高では始めての野菜で、30戸ほどが
挑戦したが、うまくいかなかった農家も多い。
私も、出荷できるほどのものがほとんどなく
来年乞うご期待となったのだが。

その野菜について出荷先からクレームがついたということで
朝早く召集がかかって行ってみた。水はけの悪い
畑で作ったものに特徴的な不良がでたのだという。
切らなければ見えない部分で、外観からは判断が
つかないという。

それはともかく、その説明の中で、農協が集荷した
あとそれを地元のC仲買（市場ですね）を通じて
販売しているというのだ。Cから更にほかの市場に
出荷されているはずだから、聞いているほうは？？？
だよね。何で農協が直接市場に卸さないで、本来
競争相手である地元市場に販売を委託してしまうのか。

ベテランの農家に拠れば、農協は系統出荷で大口
取引先に出荷先を絞ってきたので、小口のアイテムには
対応できないのだという。今度農協に聞いてみようと
思うが、最終消費者との間に中間流通業者が何社も
入れば、結局農家の取り分が少なくなるではないか。
小口にいちいち人件費を掛けていられないという理由
なのかな～？　でも、ちょっと違うような気がするんだな、
これが。　農協には、農家をまず豊かにしてという思想が
欲しいよね、と思うのだが。

I tried to grow a vegetable introduced
by local JA this year. It was introduced
to local JA Sukoh for the first time and
around 30 farmers tried some. But not so many
farmers were successful including myself.
The growers were requested to treat it
as a brand new vegetable because the
growing method is completely different
from the conventional one.

The growers were asked to participate in
a meeting the other day early in the morning
because JA had received claims from a retail
supermarket. The vege had kind of stain when
cut at backyard. The stain was not detectable
from the appearance but was visible only when
cut. The stain was said to happen on the vege
grown in less permeable land.

Set aside the clain issue, what surprised me most
was the fact that JA had sent the collected veges
from the farmers to the local market company.
It means JA does not sell the vegetable by itself
but relies on a competitor company.

A veteran farmer told me that JA would not sell
small lot produces because it had concentrated to
handle a big lot ones like apples and grapes. And
that narrowed the sales routes for years.
It is obvious that the famers' margin is reduced
if the distribution system gets complicated.
JA should have its own reason why it does not
find own sales routes. Maybe it costs more than
just letting local market company to handle it.
But is it so? I don't feel it is reasonable for
JA to do that. I expect JA to hold its concept to
bring profit to the growers first. In order to
do so, JA should have its own sales routes besides
their existing big lot routes.

おかげさまで2008ヴィンテージの
白ワインが完売となりました。
好評のセミヨン/ソーヴィニオン・ブラン
に続いて、本日ヴィオニエとリースリング
が完売です。シャルドネ2008のリリースは
まだ先です。シャルドネ2007は販売を
しばらくお休みします。

ということで、現在販売しているの欧州系
品種は赤だけで、ピノ・ノワール2007 とメルロー2007
（いずれも残り少なくなりつつあります）と、
メルロー/カベルネ2007です。

さてさて、昼間は暖かく陽が照っていましたが
朝と午後陽が翳ってからは大分冷え込むように
なりました。今朝、8時半集合の農協の
集まりに行こうとしたら、軽トラの窓に
びっしりと氷というか霜というかが
ついていて、掻き削らなければ前も
横も見えません。とりあえずフロントガラス
の氷を陽に当てながら取り除いて、それ以外の
窓は全開で寒風を受けて運転して
ました。エンジンも一発ではかかりません。

早く畑仕事の予定を済ませなければと
あせりまくりです。どうか余計な行事が
入りませんように！

I am very glad to tell you that all the
2008 vintage white wines released this year
are sold out. Following Semillon/Sauvignon
Blanc, final bottles of Viognier and Riesling 2008
were sold out today. Release of Chardonnay 2008 is
not on the schedule yet meanwhile Chardonnay 2007
is removed from the shelf for further maturation.

Therefore, the wines from European cultivars available
for sale now are Pinot Noir 2007 and Merlot 2007 as well
as Merlot/Cabernet 2007.

Nowadays, the weather was rather mild during daytime
with warm sunshine but it gets cold in the morning
and after sunset. I found all the glasses of my ute
this morning was frozen when I went out to drive to
a JA meeting at 8:30. I had to move the car to a
sunny side of the parking and removed the ice.
I had to drive with both side window open. I was not
able to start the engine at one turn of the starter
key.

As it gets colder and colder everyday, I feel
I have to hurry up to finish scheduled vineyard
operation in December. Hope there will be no
more unncessary things happening this week.

a little bit surprised, to tell the truth,
and very proud to have such person in Suzaka.

リバティー・ジャズ・オーケストラの
15回目の定期演奏会があった。
愛好家だけで20人近いオーケストラを
組んで、15年以上も続いているなんて
すごいね。その腕前もなかなかのもの。

聴衆の数も半端ではなかったし、
演奏も雰囲気も去年より
充実していて、意外にも（失礼！）
とても楽しめました。

いい雰囲気で音楽に接すると、
楽器ができたり、歌が歌える人、
音楽を楽しめる人はいいな～と
羨ましく思いますね。とっても
楽しそうなんですから。

昨年に続き、友人から教えてもらって
今日の演奏会を知った。
もっと宣伝すればいいのに。
ビッグバンドジャズ
なんて、生で触れる機会なんて
ほとんどないので、こんな
田舎にあって、とても大切な
存在だと思いますね。

There held the 15th Annual Performance
of Liberty Jazz Orchestra. Is't it amazing
for jazz lover musicians of around 20
members to have perfromed alreaday more than
15 years. The music sounds very good to me.

Many audiences came to enjoy the music and
it seemed to me that they enojoyed a lot more
the music and the performance this year.

I wish I could play music instruments
and enjoy life with music and
performance like these players. They really
looked enjoying their playing.

I happened to know that there was such
a concert tonight from my frined. It was
second time since last night to attend
their concert. I thought the concert
should have been advertised widely
and that many more poeple in town
should be notified. It is very rare
opportunity for anybody to enjoy live big band
jazz. In such a rural town of Nagano
especially, the orchestra is a very
precious treasure.

写真は峰の原の人たちが作った
リースです。大きくて立派。
それに何といっても、山のものや
自然のものを使っていて、いい香り
のする本物のリースです。

これで、クッキーがついて4,000円。
2,000円のもあるとか。受注生産
らしいです。私のワインと詰め合わせて
販売しようかという話も出ています。

It was snowing at Minenohara today.

The photo shows the wreath that the group
of my friends at Minenohara made for sale.
It is big, gorgeous, and smells good with
the materilas from the mountains and
backyard woods. It is a really nice weath.

It is sold at 4,000 yer per piece with a pack
of cookies. There is a smaller one at 2,000 yen.
We are discussing to make a gift pack of the
wreath, cookies and my wine. If you want one,
