１年ぶりにチェーンソーを
引っ張り出したら、使い方やら燃料やら少々
不安だったので購入した農機具店の
友人のところへ持っていった。

燃料は混合燃料でした、刃は
土を削ったせいか、これじゃ切れないね～
といわれて研いでもらい、チェーンを
引っ張りなおし
使い方をおさらいして畑へ。

サクランボの樹を伐採していたら
地主のSさんがチェーンソー
を持って手伝いに来てくれました。
チェーンの状態がかなりゆるゆるで
調整が必要な様です。

しばらく１人で切っていると、
ふくちゃん農園の福宏さんが通りかかって
ストーブ用に木を使うからと
午後から長男のシンペイ君を連れて手伝いに
来てくれました。

午前中だけで腕が萎えるほど
筋肉痛でしたが、おかげで思ったより早く
終わることができました。

これから根を掘り起こして、枝と
一緒に焼却してそれから植える準備を
します。そうだバックホーを予約しないと。

I grabbed my chainsaw from the warehouse
for the first time since last Spring.
As I was not sure about the fuel and the
operation, I took it to my friend's machine
shop. He reminded me of the mixed fuel,
sharpened the blades and told me how to
strat it again. The blads were round because I
touched the ground last year.

When I was cutting down the cherry trees, the landlord
came to help me with his chainsaw. But the chain was
so loose that he should give up soon.

Later on Fuku-chan just drove neaby found me in
the yard. He kindly told me to help cutting the
trees as he wanted the lamber for his heater.
He came back in the afternoon with his son.

Thanks to them, I was able to finish today's
operation much earlier than expected. However,
my arms become asleep and I am feeling pain
in my both arms after the using chainsaw for four
hours.

Oh I have to book busket excavator to dig up
the roots.

２日ほどお湿りがあり
大分土が軟らかくなっているので
今日も葡萄の植え替えをやりました。

今日はピノノワールです。
樹と樹の間に挿し木しておいたのが
大分大きくなり株間が狭くなったので
欠損部に植え替えです。

自根だといずれフィロキセラという
葡萄の根っこにつくアブラムシに
やられるので、耐性を持った台木を植えて
それに高接ぎすればいいんですけど、
ここまで大きくなったのでとりあえず
挿し木したのを使います。

台木も欠損部に植えてあるので、
今年高接ぎします。

明日からいよいよ、今年植える畑
の準備です。サクランボの樹を切って
抜根し、それを焼却して畝を作ります。
２９日苗植えには間に合わせないと。

As the land softens due to the rain till
this morning, I re-plant young vines today.

It's is Pinot Noir. As the own rooted vines
become bigger and the inter-vine gets narrower,
owne rooted vines were pull out and planted
in the rows which lacks a few vines.

Because of the fear of phylloxera on own rooted
vines, I prefer grafted vines but as the own rooted
vines became so big, I decided to use them
for a few years. As I planted rootstocks last year,
I will try green grafting this summer.

From tommorrw, I will start preparing new vineyard.
I have to cut dowen existing cherry trees, pull out
roots and burn them. Then I will cultivate for
planting. It should be ready by April 29th when
I have vine planting event.

Itinerary:
Day 1 October 24 (Sat.) 23:30
Shinjuku Station West.
Start to Suzaka by hired tour bus.

Day 2 October 25 (Sat.)
Early Morning. Arrival at Suzaka.
Rest and hot spar at Kojyoso Inn.

9:00 am -. Winegrape harvest at Kusunoki Vineyards.
(Other program will be prepared for rain.)
12:00 - 14:00 Lunch (BBQ) in the vineyard.
Free drink (wine and juice) provided.

14:30 -16:30 Guided Tour in Suzaka (A Huge Maze Town!)
Visiting historical sites including an old Miso maker.

Stay at Kojoso Inn.

Day 3 October 26 (Sun.)
9:00 am Start Tour.
Apple harvest at an orchard in Suzaka.
10:00-12:30
Soba making experience. Enjoy your own soba for lunch.
13:30 Leave Suzaka for Shinjuku Station West via Express way.
18:30 Arrival at Shinjuku.

りんごの芽が大分膨らんできました。
枝の先に緑の葉っぱの丸まったのが
開きかけています。

りんごの花は葉っぱが出てから
咲きます。淡い緑に純白のふじ
の花が咲く様は見事です。

午後からは巨峰の樹の植え替えです。

ナガノパープルに更新中
の畑から若い巨峰の樹を掘り出して
別の畑に持ってゆきます。
この畑は石が無いので掘るのも
楽です。でも移植先の村石の畑は石が
ごろごろ。大変ですが、葡萄にとっては
良い条件です。

去年植えたワインの葡萄畑で、剪定と誘引。
この畑で最後です。
樹が小さいので作業は
早く進みます。

Apple buds are getting bigger.
At the tip of the branches, small
green leaves are rounded and getting
ready to burst soon.

Apples flowers will come after small
leaves are open. White Fuji flowers
in young green leaves are so beautiful.

Kyoho vine re-planting. Pulling young vine
from Nagano Purple vineyard and transplant
in another Kyoho vineyards.
This yard is easy to dig because very little
rocks but new one is with plenty of rocks.
It is really hard to dig a hole for
planting.

The last picture shows the vineyard where I
planted only last year. I did pruning and
training which is easy because the vines
are very small yet.

春とはいえ山が色づくのは
5月の連休頃です。今はまだ
杉や松のくすんだ緑色を除けば
山はまだまだ冬の色です。

妙覚山という山で、小さい頃
虫取り等で親しんだ山です。

今はワイン葡萄の誘引といって
ワイヤーに枝を巻きつける作業の
大詰めです。

大分芽も膨らんできてきて、
ちょっとした拍子に芽が欠けて
しまうことがあります。

この畑はまだ3年目なので
まだまだ長梢剪定です。
左側が誘引を終わった列
で右がこれからの列です。

The mountain is still in winter color
with scattered grey green of cidars and pines.
The color changes into pale green in May
and then to dark green which is brilliant and
lively.

It is called Myokaku-san mountain. When I was
a little boy, I frequent to it for summer beatles,
etc.

Back in the vineyard, I am doing training of canes
to the fruiting wire (cordon). I am almost finishing it
now.

The buds are getting bigger and it is easy to break it
by wire or training operation. As the vines are
three years old, cane pruning was applied and the cane
is trained. You don't need to train if spur pruning is
applied.
