麻布十番納涼祭り「おらがくに自慢」
に参加します。この間
ブログはお休みです。

ワイン、日本酒、りんごジュース
を須坂の小間にて販売します。
税務署への届出も無事できました。

お祭りの夜店みたいなものですから
歩きながら食べられるものとか
飲めるものでないと売れないだろう
と言われています。

さて、どうなりますか。

As introduced here before, I will go
to participate Azabu Juban Summer Festival
"Boast of my village" for three days from
tomorrow. So I will not write this blog for
three days.

I will bring my wines, Japanese sake "Suzaka"
and my apple juice. I filed a temporay lisence
successfuly at the tax office.

It is like a street vendor at summer
festivals, those f&b which can be carried
and consumed would be sold but those heavy
goods like bottled wines would not be sold
so well. What will happen then? Let's see.

昨日は全国的に大雨だったらしく
長野もお昼前から降り始め一時
激しく降った。その時以外は
今日もずっと草刈り。

10日ほど前に草刈したのだが
その後の雨続きで草が大分
のびてしまっている。

肥料などやら無くても
世話をしなくても雑草は
立派に伸びるものだと感心する。
虫も病気も関係なさそう。

明後日から麻布だが明日も
朝から草刈になりそう。

写真は今日のセミヨン。
糖度計は持ってゆかなかったが
大分甘くなってきている。
色もあめ色になりつつある。
他の樹の房はまだ緑なのだが
1本だけ早く出来上がって
来ている。

It rained throughout Japan yesterday and
Nagano was no exception. It sarted raining
before noon and rained very heavily once.
After Obon I have been mowing except when it
rains.

I did mowed around 10 days ago but a lot of
water by rain helped weeds to grow so fast.
It is amazing to see the weeds grow even without
any care or fertilizer. It seems to have no
problem with pests and disease.

Before I go to Azabu the day after tomorrow,
I have to mow the weeds on all of my vineyards.
So tomorrow, too early in the morning.

The picture shows the Semillon grape today.
It was very sweet already. I don't know the Brix as
I did not carry any instrument to measure the sugar
level. These bunches look ripe but other bunches
on other vines are still green. I wish to have a
refregerator for early harvest.

It is a notice of jazz live to be
held at n-style and Tito cafe at which
I have had wine tasting.

Live Jazz held in last August created
a diffent space in Suzaka. This year
the quality is higher and it will become
a comfortable live with mellow atomosphere.

It is highly recommended.

Obon is the period Aug. 13 to Aug. 16
when family ancestors' spirits
are thought to return home once
a year and spend time with current
family members. It is one of the budhists'
biggest events in a year.

さすがにお盆ともなると、
親戚を訪ねたり訪ねられたり、
と普通のお盆ムードになってしまう。

しかも昼間は暑くて午後は大雨が
連日続き、つい畑への
足が遠のいてしまった。
おかげで骨休めができました。

東京からの親戚を須坂動物園と
臥竜公園に案内しました。
かんかん照りだったのですが、
池の端の木陰を渡る風は
思いのほか涼しいので
びっくり。茶屋でのかき氷も
何十年かぶりです。

明日からはまた全開モード。
予定していた草刈りと巨峰の
枝整理や二番成り落としです。

As it is typical for this period,
we receive realtives at home and we visit
relatives, too. So very little work in the
vineyards makes me lazy and in Obon mood.

What't more, it was very warm at around noon
time and we had heavy rain in the afternoon
everyday. I did not intend but stayed away from
vineyards. But thanks to it, I can rest and
refresh during the week.

I took relatives to Suzaka zoo and
Garyu park last week. It was so hot in
the sun shine but I was surprised and
relieved to find that the breeze coming
over the small pond and under the shadow
of the trees by the pond was so cooling
and fresh. I had ice with sirup at a small
restaurant by the pond for the first
time in the last tens of years.

From tomorrow, I will start working
in a full throttle mode, mowing and
other operations on Kyoho grapes.

昨日畑に東京から訪問の
方がありました。　首都圏で
幼児教育に取り組んでいる
田村夫妻です。私の親戚に
当るご夫婦です。

夫妻のお話によると、知人の
方が昨年楠ワイナリーを訪ねて
須坂に来てくれたそうです。
ワイナリーはまだ無いので
行き着かなかったかも知れませんね。
お知り合いの方、どうもすみません。
また、巨峰辛口ワインが結構
評判だとの話も伺いました。

そういえば先日市内の岩の湯さんで
飲んだ私のワインが美味しかったからと
あちこち探してきてくださった
名古屋からのお客様がいました。
不覚にもお名前をお聞きするのを
忘れてしまいました。すみません。
浦野酒舗さんでお買い上げいただいた
メルロー等お気に召して頂ければ
嬉しいです。

午後は例によって夕立です。
バケツをひっくり返したような
土砂降りが長く続きました。
昼間の暑さは相変わらずなので
病気が心配です。

Yesterday I received visitors from
Tokyo at one of my vineyards. They are
my relatives and are in infant education.

They told me a lot about how they enjoy
my blong and wines. One of their friends
tried to visit me last year and came to
Suzaka. As I do not have a winery yet,
they may have not reached their destineation.
I am so sorry for it.

They also told me that my Kyoho wine was popular
among their acquaintances.

I had other visitors, too. A couple who
stayed at Iwanoyu, a famous
Japanese inn in Suzaka, had enjoyed my wine
at the inn very much and decided to buy
a few bottles. They tried to find my wines
and asked Obuse winery, too and finally
reached Urano Shuo bottle shop in Suzaka.
I went there and had chat for a while. I am
sorry I forgot asking their names. I hope
that they will enjoy my wines including
Merlot 2006.

I the afternoon, we had heavy shower again.
In Japanese, we express it "Heavey rain like one turns over
a bucket." We still have high temperature everyday, I worry
about the disease on the vines.
