I will be coming to Tokyo tomorrow
to participate in the Big Shishu Fair
at Tokyo Dome City-Prism Hall on September
26 and s7.

I will serve wine tasting and sale of
my wines.

If you are living in and around Tokyo,

and attractions as well as so many tantalizing

小雨模様の日、19日に運動会が
あったので小学校は明日もお休み。
そんな連休の後半、荷造りのお手伝い
をお願いしているHさんとＫさんの
子供達も作業場に来て手伝ってくれた。
箱を作ったり、葡萄を袋から出したり。
小学生高学年のお姉さん達と中学年の
弟妹達はなかなかの働きぶり。
お母さん達のお手伝いで
とても作業がはかどりました。
ありがとう。

そんな今日はお彼岸。
さすがにというか、彼岸花が
満開になりました。
畑にはどこからともなく
木犀の香りが漂っています。

We had scattered rain today. It was
the second last day of the consecutive
holidays for the elementary school children as
they had had a sports festival on 19th as one
of the school activities. So the children of Ms.
H and Ms. K who help me occassionally
came to my work room to help their
mothers to pack kyoho grapes.
The elder sisters and their younger
brother and sister were worked quite well
and helped us a lot. I was amazed that
these children actually became real work force.
Thank you for your help !

Such a day was Ohigan when we pray for our
ancestors at the graveyard and eat special
sweet called Ohagi made of cooked sticky rice
and red beans. The spider lillies I introduced
the other day were in full bloom just today.
In the air floated the typical autumnal fragrance,
sweet osmanthus in the apple orchard.

今朝畑で巨峰を収穫していると
なにやら猫のような動物がいる。
良く見ると狸。此方に気づかないのか
なにやら探している様子。写真を撮ったり
葡萄をとったりしていると、此方に
気づいてじっと見ている。

脅かす必要もないが、しばらくすると
どこかに行ってしまった。何せ隣は
遊休荒廃農地だから隠れ家はいくらでも
あるだろう。落ちた葡萄でも探しに
きたのか。

今日はJA須高の葡萄祭り。
午前中は大変な人出があったようだ。
かなりお得なお値段で、人気の
ナガノパープルやシャインマスカットは
予定量を早々と終了して追加を持って
きたという。なるほど皆さん元気で
活気があり、明るい顔をしている。
いいことです。

I happened to notice a cat like animal
in one of my kyoho vineyards while I was
picking grapes this morning. A close look
showed me it was a wild raccoon dog. It may not
have noticed me yet and seem to look for something
on the ground. Finally it noticed me after I took
its picture and went back for picking grapes.
It went on staring at me for a wile.

I need not threaten it but it went away somewhere
after for a while. It should have its nest in the
neighboring abandaned farm land. I wonder if it
came out to look for a dropped bunch.

We had a Grape Festival today organized by loca
JA. They say there were so many people coming
this morning. The grapes were sold at very
reasonable prices and the popular Nagano Purple
and Shine Muskat were sold very quickly and
they should go get another batch of the grapes.
No wonder the venders looked very fine and happy
in the lively market atmosphere. Such a good
day to the grapes!

やるそうです。

パフォーマーは、銀座ストリート
ライブで人気を集めた
ジャズサックス奏者の伊澤隆嗣さん。
音大からサックスを専攻した実力派です。

10月3日午後7時から。
珍しいサックスのソロライブです。
ワンドリンク付きで800円。
パティオ大門の
「カフェえんがわ」さんが
こだわりの飲物で出店
するそうです。

秋の夜須坂に出現する
一夜限りのライブハウス。

Live music performance is planned
at 'n-style' interior shop in front
of Seiyu Supermarket.

The peformer is Takatugu Itoh from
Tokyo once popular street live performer
in Ginza. He is a professional sax player
having majored in sax at the University.

The live will be from 7pm on October 3.
The admission is 800 yen per person with one
drink. The F&B will be provided by Cafe Engawa
from Patio Daimon, Nagano.　They will serve
sepecial drinks like drought Shiga Kogen beer, etc.

One night live house will be open
in autumn Suzaka. Let's enjoy music.

お彼岸ですね。
いつもの頃なら満開の彼岸花が
今日はまだほんの一部が咲いているだけ。
葡萄が遅れている理由と同じ理由で
遅れているのか。

この花で思い出すのはやはり
山口百恵の曼珠沙華。

最近朝夕がとても寒くなって
長袖で無いと早朝の収穫は
ちょっと寒すぎです。
そのせいで、葡萄の酸落ちが
進まずにちょっと酸味が
後味に残るのですが、
巨峰を食べてわかりますか？

The autumn equinox is just around
the corner. So-called equinoctial
flower, spider lilly, is supposed to
be in full bloom but only small part of
them has just been flowering. I wonder
if the flowering is delayed due to the
same reason of the delayed ripeness of
grapes.

This flower always reminds me of
Manjushaka sung by Momoe Yamaguchi.

It gets cold in the morning and evening
and I cannot do without long sleeve
clothings when I pick the grapes early
in the morning. Because of this lower
temperature than usual, the acidity of
the grapes is a bit high and you can feel
it when you eat kyoho grapes especially
at the aftertaste.
