冬季、日本でも一番気温の低い観測点になることも
ある菅平。峰の原はさらに標高が高いので、その
寒さは推して知るべし。

根子岳山頂付近には、蔵王かと見まがうほどの
樹氷ができ、海老の尻尾もできる。
その写真に誘われて峰の原を訪ねると、友人達
はテレマークスキーでパウダーを存分に楽しんだ
ようだ。ノートラックの雪面の輝きと。

During winter, Sugadaira is sometimes reported
to have recorded the lowest temperature in Japan.
But Minenohra is situated at even higher altitude
and you can guess how cold it is there.

Near the top of the Neko-dake mountain, you can find
the soft rimes like in Zao and the so-called prawn tail.

The pictures of Neko-dake mountain made me visit
Minenohara, friends were enjoying the powder snow
in the mountain by telemark ski with the shining slope
of fresh snow without truck.
