畑ではようやくシャルドネの
枝付けまで終わった。あと6反分
程。今週一杯で終わらせたいが
雨模様の予報。でも頑張るか。

さて、ワナリーツアー3日目
マクラーレン・ヴェールへ
実は3日目がメインイベント
ともいえるものでした。

というのも地元の人でもめったに
行けないワイナリー2軒を訪ねるのですから。
我々を受け入れてくれたワイナリーの
方々に感謝です。

午前中はクラレンドン・ヒルズへ、
その後お昼はダレンバーグのダリーズ・ベランダ、
そして午後はヌーン・ワイナリー。

クラレンドン・ヒルズはマクラーレン・ヴェールから
アデレード・ヒルズ寄りに少し離れた丘陵にあり、赤ワインのみを
作っているワイナリーです。日本にも輸入されていますが
人気でなかなか見つけるのは難しい、幻のワインに近いかな。
全てシングル・ヴィニヤーズ・ワインで、ワインの名前は
畑の名前です。

オーナーから絶大な信頼を得ているワインメーカーが
日本人の齊藤さんで、はや12年目となるとのこと。
テイスティングも用意して頂き、隣あう畑でかくも
スタイルの異なるワインになるという比較もさせて
頂きました。また、齊藤さん初ヴィンテージという
リヤンドラ1999もテイスティングさせて頂きました。
とても親切に説明をして頂いて
ありがとうございました。一同も感激して
おりました。　そうそう、後日ヌーンワイナリーの
ドリューさんと夕食に行った際に、彼がボトルショップ
で選んだワインもクラレンドン・ヒルズの
オールド・ヴァイン・グルナッシュでしたよ。

I finished wrapping of chardonnay
today there are more 0.6ha to go.
I want to finish within this week
but rains are expected. I may have
to continue in the rain. I will see
if I can do so.

Now third day of winery tour to
McLaren Vale. The third day was the
high light or main event of this tour.
Because we visited the wineries which
even local people have littile chance to
visit. I am so happy that these wineries
were so kind to accept us.

In the morning, we visited Clarendon Hills
followed by the lunch at d'Arenberg d'Arry's
Verandah then we went to Noon Winery.

Clarendon Hills is situated on the hills
boardering the McLaren Vale towards Adelaide
Hills. They produce only red wines. Their wines
are imprted to Japan but it is so sought after
and very difficult to find. So it's is kind of
mirage wine. Their wine is all sigle vineyard's
wine and the name is taken after the name of
vineyard.

The winemaker being relied on by the owner is Mr. Saito,
a Japanese winemaker who has worked there for 11 years now.
He was very kind to show us the winery and arranged
tasting. The comparison of two different style wines
made by grapes from the vineyards side by side was
very impressive. Included was 1999 Lyandra which was
his first vintage wine there. Tour members were
very happy and were very much grateful.

Mr. Drew Noon of Noon Winery chose Clarendon Hills
Old Vine Grenache for a dinner which I went together
at a later date.
