税込みサービス料10％別。
先日東京にて知人と打ち合わせに
使った場所での飲物リストの値段。
彼はブレンドを私はカプチーノ
を頼んだのだが、カフェラテも
エスプレッソも同じ値段だった。
味は可もなく不可もなくというところ。

お昼を済ませたあと、お茶できる場所を
ということで訪ねた場所。数年前には
1,000円程度だったから少し値上がりを
していたわけだ。

東京でのお昼過ぎにコーヒーでも飲んで
一息つこうとしてもなかなか適当な
場所がない。そもそもどのお店も満席
状態。決心して入店し、カウンターで注文の
コーヒーを受け取って席を探し、
隣の席の水の入ったグラスに注意しながら座っても
コートやらかばんやらを置く場所も無いから
膝の上に抱えて、店によってはタバコの煙に
悩まされながらの一杯という事になる。
僅かな液体を飲み干してしまえば、長居が
できる雰囲気でもなく、またそういう気持ちも
なくなってしまい、そそくさと外へ出て
疲れていた足を休められなかったことを
思い出す。

最近ではSの様なソファ席を置いている
店もあるが、そういう席は運がよくないと
あいていないし、落ち着かないことには
変わりが無い。ほかの店よりは美味しい
コーヒーは飲める事はいいのだが…。

で、先ほどのコーヒー1260円のお店。
入り口に着くと、お年を召したコンシエルジュ
風の方が、禁煙席か喫煙席かの希望を聞く。
私は迷うことなく「禁煙席」というのだが、
連れが「喫煙席」ということで、やむなく
喫煙席へ。隣からは葉巻の甘いような、
ヘビートーストしたオークの様な香りが
漂ってくる。昔から街角に見かける
Rの様な安手さはない。

低い丸テーブルに五つほどのすわり心地の良い
椅子。手にしていた書類やコートをそちらに
置き、背中を預けてゆっくりできる。
ほっと一息ついて飲物を注文する。
喫煙できる場所に彼は安心して一服し
運ばれてきたコーヒーを飲み仕事の話
を続ける。空調が良いらしく、葉巻の
香りが僅かに漂ってくるほかは
たいがいの場合鼻につくタバコの臭いは
ほとんど気にならない。隣の席とは
間が十分にあり、天井が高いせいも
あるのだろう、携帯電話でのやり取りも
周囲を気にする必要がない。

2時間ほど居た間に、コーヒー好きだという
彼は都合3杯のコーヒーを飲み、
私は2杯のカプチーノを飲んだ。飲物を
飲み終えると、ウェイトレスが気を利かせて
もう一杯如何ですかと聞いてくれる。ブレンドが
お代わり自由とは結構ある話だが、まさかカプチーノ
もＯＫとは知らなかった。新しいコーヒーカップに
新しいカプチーノが入って、ギャバンの新しい
シナモンスティックがついて来る。

何となく落ち着いてしまって、次のアポぎりぎり
まで居座ってしまった。もちろん飲物一杯で席を立つ
ビジネスマン風の人も多いのだが、ゆっくりとしている
人たちも居る。私は、昼食もこなれ、歩きづかれた足も
軽くなって、そうして少々余裕を持った気持ちで
会計できて、ゆっくりと話ができた2時間ほどを
少々満ち足りた気持ちで終えたことが
嬉しかった。お会計はサービス料込み2人分で
2,772円で。コーヒー2杯としては破格の
高さではあるのだが…。

都心にあるホテルの、天井が高いロビーにある、
その名もザ・ランデヴー・ラウンジというロビーラウンジ。
お急ぎでなければお勧めですね。

This is the price of a cup of coffe at a coffee
shop at a certain place in Tokyo which I used
for a meeting. A friend of mine ordered a blende
coffee and I ordered a cup of cappucino coffee.
According to the drink list, a cup of cafe latte
and espresso cost the same. The tast was just OK,
but not super or bad.

We visited that coffee loung after lunch. They
served a cup of coffee at around 1,000 a few
years ago, they hiked the price since then.

As you know, you cannot find a place for a coffee
very easily in Tokyo after lunch time. Most of the
seats were occupied at everyshop in the afternoon.
After making up mind and entering a shop, I usually
have to carry a drink on a small tray looking for
a vacant seat and to pay attention not to turn a glass
of water on the neighbour's table. As there is no space
for a bag or a coat, I have to put them on my lap and
sip the coffee being bothered by smoke. Once I finish
drinking the liquid, I feel like being hurried to leave
and after getting out the shop, I remember not resting
my tiring legs.

There are coffee shops like S recently
where they have sofa but these seats are
usually occupied and I cannot relax in any case.
I appreciate the better taste coffees there though.

At the entrance of the coffee loung of 1260yen
coffee, an old gentlement like a hotel concierge
asked if we liked smoking seat or non-smoking.
Of course I asked for non-smoking but because
my friend preferred smoking, I gave in. Sweet
semll of cigar which was like the smokey flavour
of highly toasted oak barrel was floating in the
air. The floor was covered with carpet but it
was not like the one at coffee shop R which
we often find in the streets.

We were seated at a low round table with five
confortable chairs. I can put the documents
and coats on the vacant seats and relaxed with
my back strethced. We ordered our drinks. A friend
of mine had a cigarett and we continued the business
talk with our coffee. Ventillation was good and I was
not bothered by cigaretts at all. I only felt the
sweet aroma of somebody's cigar. Because of the
spaciousness and the high ceiling, the conversation
by mobile phone was not disturbing at all.

We spend about two hours there and he had
three cups of coffee and I had two cappucino.
Thanks to the trained waitresses, we accepted
their offer of another coffee once our cups
became empty. Free flow of blended coffee is not special
these days but I did not know they had free flow
of other kind of coffees. I got a new cappucino
in a new cup with a new sinamon stick of Gaban.

We felt very relaxed there and spent time until
next appointment time. Of course there were
many customers who left the shop only one
drink but there were some groups staying
for a while. I felt quite comfortable
and had enough rest for my legs and was
satisfied with the time I was able to talkl
with the friend. The total charge was 2,772 ye
for two. It must be very expensive if it was
for just two cups of coffee at ordinary
coffee shop....

It is situated in the hotel lobby in central
Tokyo with very high lobby ceiling.
Its name is The Roundez-Vous Lounge which I recommend
to use when you felt tired and if you were not in a hurry.
