投稿の詳細: 美ら島 La Isla Bonita

というタイトルをつけようかと
思っていたのだが、実際のところ
沖縄の姿をじっくり目にすることは
今回はできなかった。

縁あって仕事で沖縄を訪ねていたのだ。
駆け足の2泊3日で、現地では移動の途中に目にしたもの
以外は、国際通りを少々歩いた程度で、
首里も姫百合の塔も、美ら海水族館も、
戦争の跡も、ましてや万座ビーチなど
観光や遊びとは無縁の旅であった。

同行した沖縄に詳しい方々の配慮で
土砂降りの合間、途中小さな島に寄ってくれたり
嘉手納基地のそばにある道の駅
に立ち寄ってくれたので、少々
その美しい部分と、基地の島という現実の部分に
触れる事はできた。

また訪れる機会があったら
その歴史と自然に触れられる時間を
持てるようにしたいと思う。

一方、飲食に関しては、
島らっきょうに海ぶどう、
モズクの天ぷら、ソーメンチャンプルー、
羊刺し、沖縄そば。
さらには前田食堂の牛肉そば、てびち、
等々。美味しいものに沢山ありつけました。

それにしても、膨大な数の銘柄の泡盛と古酒の数々。
あいにく、これはと思うものには
めぐり会えなかったが、次回は機会もあるだろう。

ブログをしばらく休んだ上に、車があるので
インフルエンザで寝こんでいるのかと心配して
電話をくれた友人に感謝。
ご心配をお掛けした皆さんすみません。
次に留守にするときは一言断る様に
致します。

That is the title I wanted to put
but I did not have enough chance to look
around real Okinawa this time.

I visited Okinawa for two nights and
three days on a business trip. It was a busy
trip and other than the things I saw
on the way to the business,
I was not able to do kind of sightseeing or
visit such famous places as Shuri, War Memorial
sites, aquarium, Manza beach, and so on.
I was only able to walk around the famous
Kokusai Dori street once.

However, thanks to the accompanies who have visited
Okinawas many times, I went to a small
beautiful island and visited the tower looking
down the runway of Kadena Air Base. Therefore
I touched a bit of its mother nature and the
reality of life with the foreign military bases
in town.

I decided to have more time to visit
its famous sites in terms of sightseeing
and the history next time I visit there.

On the other hand in terms of F&B,
I had chance to experience many local
delicasies such as Shima-rakkyo, Sea grape
(sea weed), Deep fried mozuku seaweed,
local fried noodle, slice meat of
lamb, local noodle soup. Beef noodle
at Maeda restaurant and stewed pork legs,
etc.

I was so impressed at so many brands of
local alchool distiled spirits and its vintage ones
but I was not able to taste one which
satisfies me somehow. I will find one
next time.

After three days of absence, I got a call
from a friend by wondering if I had been
in bed for influenza as he found my ute
in the parking and non renewal of
the blog. It was so kind of him and
I thank him very much. I am sorry for
the readers who worry about me for the
same reason. Next time I will tell you
in advance in case I am absence for a while.
