今年から、ワイン葡萄
は全部長梢剪定に変えることに
した。去年迄短梢でやっていた
畑は主幹が太いので剪定に
手間取っている。
ワイヤに這わせた枝の
あちらこちらに
虫の喰い入れた後がある。

短梢剪定の方が新梢数
が多くなりシーズン中の管理
が大変だった様に思う。
何と言っても葉っぱの一枚
一枚に日を良く当てる
には長梢の方がよいように
思う。短梢だと、太い
枝が残るので越冬細菌による
影響も多いようだ。

I have changed pruing method from
spur pruning to cane pruning this
year. As the spur pruned cordon
has big branches to be cut off,
it takes more time than expected.
I found many bore by pest on the
branches like this.

I think canopy management for
spur pruned vines is more difficulut
than cane pruned vines because of
the more number of new shoots during
the growing season. Cane pruning
is more suitable for receiving more
sun light into the canopy. Spur
pruned vines have old cordons around
the wire which seem to provide
microbes with the nest for winter
and to cause disease.
