ピノノワールの畑。
葉の色が変わっている樹が
ちらほら。収穫会に
参加した人は、紅葉が始まって
いると思って、まーキレイ！

ちがうんです。これは
樹が弱っていて樹勢が弱いか、
もうおしまいの信号なんです。

こういう場合大抵幹の下のほうに
虫が食い入れています。冬にかけて
根のほうに進んで暖かい土の中で
越冬するようです。

虫でなければクラウンゴールもしくは
根頭癌腫といって、凍害のせいで
できた樹の癌の様な病気です。

ピノノワールの畑は結構
標高が高いところにあるので
凍害にやられ、また虫にも
やられている樹が比較的
多いですね～。そのため、
根本近くから伸びた
徒長枝（サッカー）を
わざと何本か残しています。

No, it is not. This is the signal that
this vine will go to die.

In many cases, you can find pests making
bores in the vines in the direction to
the ground. The pest will stay there during
winter.

If the cause was not by the pest, the reason
is usually crown gall caused by the cold
injury during cold winter.

As the vineyard is in the high altitude,
the vines there are susceptible to the cold
injury. As such, I intentilanlly leave and
grow some of the new shoots from the trunk
(suckers) as the replacement.
