あと一息というところ。
房切りから始まって、
今は袋掛け、と笠掛け。
今週末から来週初めに掛けて
ボルドーの防除が行われるので
どの畑も最後の追い込みだ。
うちの畑も今日はお手伝いの
人が4人入ってもらった。

自分の畑の袋掛けが遅れれば
周りの畑も散布を遅らせることに
なる。ドリフトによって、
ボルドーに使われる石灰による
果実表面の汚れが残るからだ。
自分の畑が遅れると周りにも
迷惑がかかる、かも知れない。
そういう意味でも追い込みなのだ。

もちろん防除が遅れればベト病が
発生して、葡萄がダメになる。
今年は幸いにして、今のところ
ベト病の大発生は報告されていない。

うちの畑もあと一息。
ボルドーを打ってしまえば
ほっと一息となる。

One more step to finish
main operation for Kyoho.
Wrapping and parasol wrapping
are going on. Because bordeaux
spraying is scheduled on this
weekend to early next week,
all the grapegrowers are working
hard to finish wrapping by that
day. I had four helping hands in
my vineyard today.

If wrapping is delayed on my
own vineyards, then neighbouring
vineyard owners will delay their
spraying because the drift of bordeaux
spary will dirt the kyoho bunches of
neighbouring vineyard.　So if I was delayed,
it would cause trouble to the neighbours.
In that sense, we have to hurry up current
operation.

Of course, if spraying is delayed, it would
cause the downy mildew which ruin the harvest.
Luckily there is no report of the epidemic of
such disease.

My vineyard is just one step away from the
finish of the operation. Once I spray bordeaux,
I feel much easier. One more last efforts away!
