今頃？　と驚かれそうですが、
今頃苗植えです。新たに棚を作った
畑や、新たに借り入れた畑です。
ここは、標高520メートル。
須坂は標高差があるので、多品種の
ワイン用ぶどうが栽培できます。
3年後が楽しみです。

One may be surprised to find that we
are planting vines NOW. Yes now.
We are planting young vines at a newly
developed vineyard with new trellis and
recently borrowed vineyard like this.
The altitude of this vineyard is 520m.
As we have lower to higher altitude sites in
Suzaka city, many varieties can be grown here.
It is exciting to think about the harvest.

連休が始まる前は色々と、たまった書類など
片付ける事が出来るかなと淡い期待があったの
だが。

今度借りた遊休荒廃農地の開墾にかかりきりだった。
20年ほどほったらかしの畑と田んぼ。
チェーンソーで雑木を切り、枝をこなし、抜根し、
葦をビーバーで切り倒し、集め、焚く。

葦とつるの根を掘り返してこれも焼却。

大分視界が開けたところで、バックホーを
返さねばならなくなり一時中断。また今週も
続きです。

連休中天気が良くて、りんごの花もようやく今日は
満開になりました。

Before the Golden Week began, I had expected to
finish paper works vainly. I spent whole day
to clear the abandoned farm land for almost twenty years
every day. I cut big trees with chain saw, chopped branches,
cleared the roots and burned them. Then I cut the reed with the power saw called
beaver and dag up the roots and the vines (not grape vines but
real vines).

Finally the view became clear but it is still halfway.
I had to stop for a while as I had to return the backhoe.
This week, I will finish the clearing.

Due to the warm weather for the consecutive holidays,
the closed apple buds finally opened full today around here.

22-3度になったようだ。
明日も25度の予報が出ている。
急に雑草の草丈が伸びたような気がする。

畑では枝付けが進む。
誘引した枝の先っちょから涙がポロリポロリ。

The temperature went up to 22-23 C degree today
and it is expected rise to 25C degree tomorrow.
The weeds seem to grow rapidly these days.

The cane training is going on in the vineyards.
The tears come down at the tip of the canes.

左側はスコットヘンリー的に芽数を多く
残しているシラーズ。右は通常のケーンプルーニング
のカベルネ・フラン。

ピノ、セミヨン、ソーヴィニオン・ブランがいい感じです。
今年は去年より収穫が早まりそう。

(ピノ・ノワール　かなり味が乗ってきています）

（ソーヴィニオン・ブラン　特徴的な香りを既に感じますね）

Pinot Noir, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc taste
good so far today. The harvest is expected earlier this
year than last year.
